Short Review Adam/Albin offers a high-end dining experience with well-crafted dishes and excellent non-alcoholic pairings. While the food was good, some dishes missed the mark, and the overall experience felt rushed rather than intimate. Service varied, with some waitstaff being more personable than others. Pricing was unclear at times, and tipping felt awkwardly expected in a country where it's not customary. Additionally, dish presentations suffered due to background noise and inconsistent delivery by different staff members, making it difficult to follow. While the restaurant has its strengths, I believe there are better options at this price point.
Long Review What was good ✅ Food Quality – Well-prepared dishes with thoughtful presentation. ✅ Non-Alcoholic Pairings – More of an experience than the food itself, truly a standout. ✅ Service Follow-up – Extra requests were accommodated, even if charged separately.
What was not so good ❌ Price vs. Quality – Food was enjoyable, but I have had better for the cost. ❌ Service Inconsistency – Some waitstaff were warm, others felt transactional. ❌ Rushed Atmosphere – More like a table that needed service than a valued guest. ❌ Confusing Start – Uncertainty around whether “snacks” were extras for an additional charge. ❌ Dish Preferences – Two dishes weren’t to my taste, and the cod dish was downright unpleasant. ❌ Tipping Pressure – Felt watched during payment, regretted tipping in a Nordic setting where it's not expected. ❌ Presentation Issues – Background noise made hearing dish descriptions difficult, and different staff members presented inconsistently. I often had to lean in to catch what was being said, reinforcing the sense that this was more of an obligation for the staff than a guest-focused experience.
Final Thoughts Adam/Albin has undeniable strengths, particularly in its beverage pairings, but certain aspects detracted from the experience. The rushed service, dish inconsistencies, unclear pricing, and weak presentation delivery left me hesitant to return. At this price point, I believe there are alternatives that offer a more refined and guest-focused...
Read moreVery disappointed. We went there on a week night, we were 4, all foodies. The service was ok, fairly what you'd expect from that kind of place, except when I actually needed to call a waiter. Just was there for 5 mn, trying to get the attention of someone, which is unacceptable, but that was the only issue with service. What was really disappointing was the food. We took the blue menu, the most expensive one, the one that should be called "10 to 20 bites of food" instead of "10 plates", and it was such a let down! First of all, the portions were ridiculous : usually, I never finish my plate in a restaurant, we had discussed several times what to do with my leftovers witn my friends, prior to coming. Here, not only did I eat the 10 small plates, but had something to eat when we came back home... And the worst is that nothing was that good. It wasn't bad, except for the mushroom dish that no-one liked at the table, but otherwise, it was just very forgettable. Apart from that dish we didn't like, I can't even remember what we ate exactly, nothing struck us. And the cheese they served... A 1-bite piece of gruyère ! Being French, gruyère is the "cheese" we eat when we have no real cheese to eat... The price of this menu is outrageous. To my mind, this should have cost 300 to 400 Sek at most. And it cost almost 1600. This is a scam, for much less, I can go to actually Michelin-starred restaurants, so I guess thank you for the...
Read moreThe venue is dimly lit. So it has rather "mysigt", cosy romantic candlelit vibes minus the candles. The tables are also kind of small and close together. Suitable for intimate dinners. Though, there are spotlights individually directed to you can see all the food.
The menu felt like upscale comfort food with comparatively affluent pricing... but it is not really fine dining. So it kind of feels mismatched to the rest of the ambience. But if you enjoy the Asian food palate, it's a pretty solid meal. South East Asian fusion cuisine but the flavours are very familiar, almost pedestrian.
The crispy pork signature dish lacked depth but was still deliciously sticky and moreish. If you get the tasting menu, highlights include the sashimi and cha plu leaf dishes. The roti was kind of crumbly? a bit too thick, stiff and 'stale-y'. Almost like they did not add enough water to the dough.
The mocktails were alright. The lychee flavour in mine was actually really decent, sad it was drowned out by the accompanying mint flavour. The young coconut icecream is probably the best coconut ice cream I've had in...
