Häktet — Restaurant in Stockholm

The appetizer was good, but it was very little for the price, it was three balls of cheese and meat that were fried and had a sauce with them, which I believe cost 265. However the entrée was basically only a slab of meat, of which 30% was just a huge fat rind that I can't imagine anyone would willingly eat. The meat was extremely tough (although it looked perfectly cooked, medium rare), and pretty fatty -though I will say the flavor itself was really good. The dish was only that piece if meat + one tomato cut into pieces, and some fries. Fries do not scream expensive to me, and neither did the bad piece of meat, but that cost almost 400kr. Absolutely ridiculous price for the small amount of food and poor quality of the meat. And this goes for both me and my boyfriend, as we ordered the same thing; we both got tough meat with way too much fat on it. We decided to pass up on dessert after that. The location did not look nice on the inside. Random pictures on the wall that did not seem to have any relation to the place (a picture of a scene from pulp fiction, I believe, a picture of Ghostface, some other random pictures.. most walls were huge mirrors, which just doesn't feel good? Lots of cables along the ceiling, and terribly ugly lamps, I could go on.. The mood among other guests was good, so that helped. But we were not happy. The only good thing was that the waiters checked on us...

We went to Häktet for a team dinner and it turned out to be an amazing place to go for team afterwork or dinner especially when you are in decent numbers like 10+. Let me outline my experience-

Food - Food was nice, didn’t find too many vegetarian or vegan options however cuisines with fish or meat were not only delicious but also presented very well. I felt they had too few beer options in their menu. They should add more variety of beers. Maybe I am a bit biased here being a crazy beer lover 😉!

Ambience and Service - Service was just superb. Restaurant staff were smart and good in speaking & explaining different dishes. Idea of booking a single cabin for a team is just awesome. It is just you and your team in the chamber.

Honestly, Häktet had great quality of food before. Now the food is a joke. I had high expectations on it as a chef from Forma has taken over but it was really bad. The service is even worse than the food. Super low quality. They don’t check their email and don’t answer the phone during opening phone hours so impossible to reach. Once you’re there the service is super slow and not super friendly (friendliness is okay but not good). The cocktails were not good either so can’t even really recommend to go here for a drink. The inner yard to super cozy and cool it’s an old prison. However the chairs and tables are nothing that great either, so they could have done a lift up on that...
