If you're looking for real authentic italian food and great service, i would highly recommend you to go somewhere else, from the start of the evening till the very end me and my friends got the very worst service that a resturant could offer, we had reserved a table for 10 a month earlier and we were all excited to eat att Portofino but when we arrived we weren't allowed in beacuse the staff had not fixed our tables for our arrival, we had to wait outside the resturant for 20 min in the cold until our tabele was ready, then when it came to the food they had 0 planning done, we told the staff long before hand about our friends allergies and they still gave him food that he was alergic to, we had to tell them several times that he can't eat that until they changed his order, the staff weren't really that frindly and the food was somewhat cold when it came to our table. The food itself was truly sad to see and eat as there was no love in the art of cooking, the risoto had no flavor, and the pasta was a cheat, overall everything was over priced for what was delivered. I would never eat here again, for the money i spent here i could have bought materials and made the food at home and would have had a far...
Read moreI've typically had positive experiences at Portofino as I've always had great food and good service for for a relatively good price given the good location and atmosphere. Which is why when I would want to to show friends the nice side of Stockholm, I invite them to meal at Portofino which. However I'm deeply disappointed in a comment the manager (I think) made last night, who thought it would be a good idea to make a comment when put our backpacks down by our side jokingly asking if we had anything explosive (and I am paraphrasing because what was said was worse, and I can't get myself to type it), I suppose I lack the jest, so the manager's joke went totally over my head. I admit I should have brought it up in person but being hungry and having experienced a racist encounter of this kind for the first time in Sweden I was taken aback. Though I must say the server who did take care of the table made up for the introduction and was great, and the...

Right in the heart of Gamla Stan, Portofino feels like a warm handshake from an old-school Italian gentleman — charming, relaxed, and full of quiet elegance. Everything’s neat and lovely, the bathroom spotless, and the service kind in that classic, attentive way that makes you feel truly welcomed.
There are places that feed your hunger, and then there are places like Portofino, that feed your spirit too.
We ordered the grilled tuna, and the osso buco. Excelent! It didn’t shout. It told a story. And we listened, and enjoyed bite after bite.
No dessert, because the finale needed no sugar, just a strong double espresso, and a Disaronno, smooth and almondy, like a whispered "grazie" from the meal itself.
Service? Gentle and kind. You’re not rushed here. You're welcomed, like a guest...
