Visited during the Christmas season for the Julbord (Christmas smorgasbord).
Here we enjoyed a traditional Swedish styled Christmas feast. The difference is that instead of a self-serviced buffet styled, we had table service.
The quality was fresh and quality filling. Dinner commenced with a cup of hot muled wine (glögg) and the food followed in 4 servings:
Marinated herring and lox (Sill o lax) Cold cuts of meat and game chark Warm dishes Desserts and coffee
Dishes that I enjoyed most were the marinated herring (Sill), Christmas ham (Julskinka), beetroot salad, prinskorv, chocolate cake topped with mandarin truffle and the soft gingerbread muffin.
The marinated herring were fresh, well prepared and appetising. Flavours for the beetroot/orange (rödbets & apelsinsill), mustard (senapsill) and skÀrgÄrdsill were impressive. I don't normally like marinated herring but these were great. One could eat an entire meal with these fish.
For the warm dishes, the servings were meaty and filling. There were Swedish meatballs, pork belly, duck confit, mini sausages and Jansons frestelsen. The meat was of the pork belly was soft but the flavors could do with more umami.
The drinks list had an ample selection and there was a wide enough range of beers, wines, snaps and brewed coffee to wash down the rich food and accompany this festive dinner.
Price wise, for around 1000 SEK, this is good value and has the spirit of a traditional experience with fresh food.
Attentive service, unique experience dining in a historic building filled with frescos.
Tip : come hungry, eat enough to fill the stomach before loading on the snaps. Light beer or lager pairs well...
   Read moreI was here for a wedding reception. I can say that the place is beautiful and the food was okay, but they work in a very strange way. First of all, they started by carrying out the food with no food restrictions, which makes it all messy. When basically the whole hall except those with food restrictions got their appetizer, one of the staff got to me and said "oh, you haven't received your food yet" and handed me the no food restrictions appetizer. They didn't think one step further, and see that out of the whole table, two people didn't get food and maybe there's a reason why exactly those two people haven't received their food yet. The appetizers were also super late for the people with food restrictions. When they started carrying out the main course, my friend started a timer to see how long it would take for me to receive my food. We started the timer when the whole table got their food (not when they started serving it) and after nine (!!) minutes the host came to me and explained that they didn't expect so many vegetarians (they did know about food restrictions beforehand) so they're cooking my food now and that it should come out within five minutes. I got my main course 14 minutes after my whole table received their food. I was not compensated. The drinks are expensive and not that great, and to quote myself "This is not the best Moscow mule I've had, but definitely the most expensive". All in all, cool place but they have a very strange way of working and the staff is not the most...

Absolut sĂ€msta julbordet jag nĂ„gonsin har upplevt. Servitrisen visste inte vad de serverade, vilket var chockerande dĂ„ de hade 3 varmrĂ€tter. 3. Ingenting mer Ă€n sĂ„. Detta skulle jag inte ens kalla för julbord. De tog 950:- per person för en meny som bestod av 3 varmrĂ€tter. VarmrĂ€tten var sidflĂ€sk som Ă€r en av de fetaste delarna pĂ„ grisen. Det mest intressanta pĂ„ detta julbord Ă€r att de misslyckades med maten pĂ„ sĂ€tt som inte ska vara möjligt. DET VAR TORRT!!! HUR KAN MAN LYCKAS GĂRA SIDFLĂSK TORRT????? Jansons var smaklös. Smakade som en jansons ska smaka, men det var mer av en hint. NĂ€r man Ă„t den kĂ€nde man endast SPĂ R av smak.
FörrÀtterna var rÀtt okej. Allt var köpt, sÄ det Àr ju extremt svÄrt att misslyckas med processen att öppna ett packet och hÀlla upp pÄ en tallrik. Det enda i förrÀtten som var dÄligt var deras tillagade lax. Har ingen aning om hur de tillagade den. Det enda jag vet Àr att de tillagade den nÄgra dygn för lÀngre.
Vi bad om att fĂ„ in köttkullar och prinskorv (som jag skulle gissa pĂ„ att de flesta skulle hĂ„lla med om, Ă€r OBLIGATORISKT pĂ„ ett julbord). Det vi fick var köttbullar av samma kvalitet man fick i grundskolan INNAN MAN HĂJDE BUDGETEN. Prinskorvarna smakar som de pĂ„ ICA, sĂ„ de var ju en höjdpunkt givet resten av det man blev serverad.
Jag tog med min polare som aldrig har Àtit julbord tidigare. Jag skÀmdes att jag tog med honom hit. Det var sÄ dÄligt att det inte ens gick att skratta Ät. PÄ grund av denna upplevelse, kommer jag ALDRIG att prova nya julbord.
