Our visit to Wedholms Fisk was centered around their excellent fish and seafood offerings. The menu is thoughtfully organized by the type of fish, featuring standout options like sole, turbot, scallops, and char. We started our evening with cocktails, which were expertly crafted, and appreciated the extensive wine list available by the glass or bottle.
The food quality was outstanding, although we noticed that some dishes could have been served hotter. It seemed that a few items were not served immediately after being finished, causing them to cool down a bit more than preferred.
Service was friendly but a bit of a challenge. The restaurant was fully booked, and it appeared that there were too few staff members for the large dining room. This resulted in a hectic atmosphere where the servers had very little time for guest interaction. Our interactions were limited to essential information exchanges. Sitting close to the kitchen pass, we felt the hurried pace more acutely, though guests further away might have had a different experience.
The restaurant itself is housed in an old building with high ceilings and a classic decor, complete with white tablecloths. This elegant setting contrasted with the rushed service, creating a somewhat disjointed experience.
Overall, Wedholms Fisk offers high-quality seafood in a charming, classic environment. With some improvements in service efficiency, it could truly match the sassy-classy style...

Did people miss out on Frantzen? Adam and Albin? Animo? Leijontornet? The list could have been made way longer.
Wedholms fisk might be living on their (old) reputation but it is not living in the present. There is no music or vibe at all. It’s like eating in a library with retired, rich people, not knowing the world of restaurants has been updated.
The service is also “old school” as if the concept of restaurants and real service had never evolved. Boring, stiff service with no passion or smiles. Just another day at the “office”.
If you pay about 80 usd per main dish you should expect something extraordinary but not here. Ok. The fish itself was really good but none of the sides (for example - garlic butter) improved the dish, but on the contrary - made it worse.
Starters (soup and smörgåstårta) was terrible. None of them showing any kind of courage, passion or creativity from the kitchen. Totally tasteless and so boring.
The whole “experience” was like visiting a restaurant from 1980 that only your grand parents would be fooled, it is still a good choice for a night out.
You can find hundreds of better (fish) restaurants in...
Read moreMy family decided to celebrate my dad's birthday somewhere special while we were visiting Stockholm on holiday, and so we booked a table at Wedholms Fisk!
We were greeted warmly by staff and led to a spacious 4 person table before being given menus to look at. The menu is both in Swedish and English. As expected, the restaurant atmosphere is relaxed and there wasn't any pretentiousness. Staff were patient with us, and answered any questions we had about the different type of fish dishes and their recommendations. In the end I decided on the turbot gratinated with parmesan cheese, scallops and Champagne sauce. It was really delicious- the fish and scallops were fresh (as expected) and done in a way that the distinct flavour of the seafood wasn't lost despite the accompanying sauce. The dish also came with some rice.
Of course, it wouldn't have been a proper birthday dinner without dessert! There's a substantial list of dessert wines available, but I decided to go with the flambéed pineapple in Cognac with pecan nuts and a browned butter ice cream for a definite sweet ending to the night.
Thank you to the lovely staff for taking care of my family's special...
