Fischerstube — Restaurant in Basel

Brauerei Fischerstube is a local brewery restaurant across the Rhine River from downtown Basel. Walking here after taking public transportation is simple enough. There really isn’t any parking immediately near the brewpub. The 4-story building is white with red and green trim and their Ueli Bier flags hanging overhead. Ueli is the brand label of their beer which is produced here inside the Restaurant Fischerstube. Also just next door is a sister restaurant called Linde which also features their beer on tap. The Fischerstube restaurant has a long narrow dining room with tables on both sides. On the left is a host stand, small pouring bar for the beer, and their open kitchen. In the far back is a windowed blue tile room for the midsize shiny copper brewing vessels. I could not see the fermenters which are presumably downstairs. The place does not feel like a typical brewpub to me. It is table service only, no bar, no music, just a lot of overlapping conversations with the clink of the kitchen in the background. They offer authentic German style cuisine as well as sandwiches. They have 4 house beers on tap, which are available by sampler flight, glasses of various sizes, pitchers, and firkins for larger parties. They also have one or two seasonal varieties in bottles. The beer is trustworthy and drinkable - not exceptional but is authentic. My favorite was their Winterbogg winter seasonal. The staff is welcoming and proficient. It’s an okay place, perhaps good for a meal...

A rather mediocre and underwhelming experience with decent but bland food.

The restaurant staff was very friendly, but seemed rather overwhelmed and not in control of the situation, sometimes not even responding to us asking for a refill. They forgot about our table reservation and offered it up to a spontaneous walk-in group, while leaving us with the choice of splitting up or squeezing in tight. The food was decent, but way to overpriced for what it was and felt rather bland (Might be my personal preference though, cause I enjoy good seasoning). Meat wasn’t medium and instead done and on some parts randomly rare, while the herb butter was a frozen chunk. Portions were adequate, but some of the plates we received were dirty.

All in all not a bad experience but I will not go again and definitely not recommend it to any...

Unfassbar, noch nie sowas erlebt!!! Vor über 2 Wochen einen Tisch für 9 Personen reserviert. An einem heissen Tag geben Sie uns einen Tisch an dem man sich quetschen muss, dann auch noch in der letzten und unschönsten Ecke des gesamten Gartens wo kein Lüftchen weht. Währenddessen ist im Garten ein Tisch frei an dem 9 Personen entspannt sitzen könnten aber nur für 7 eingedeckt war. Diesen Tisch wollte man uns trotz mehrmaliger Bitte nicht geben, angeblich hätte man genau diesen einen Tisch reserviert. Ein Tisch unter vielen, keine Besonderheiten - das entspricht definitiv nicht der Wahrheit, hier kannte man wohl einfach diejenigen die dort essen wollten.

Am Ende wurden wir unfreundlich abgewiesen und man hat uns direkt auf die schwarze Liste gesetzt weil wir nicht bereit waren uns in die heisse und stickige Ecke zu quetschen. „Der Satz lautete: wenn ihr euch da nicht hinsetzt setze ich euch auf die schwarze Liste, die ganze Firma braucht nie wieder herzukommen.“

Das ist extrem unprofessionell. Der Tisch wurde früh genug bestellt, die Temperaturen sind absehbar gewesen und so speist man seine Gäste nicht ab. Man sucht Lösungen und ist gastfreundlich, der Kunde ist immer König! Es hätte genug Tische gegeben die man uns hätte reservieren können, aber nein, vermutlich muss man einfach nur Vitamin B haben und sich untereinander kennen. 0 Flexibilität, 0 Einsicht, dass 7 Personen sich weniger quetschen müssen statt 9. der Kellner wollte partout einfach nicht - fertig. Jegliche Logik fehl am Platz.

Ich schäme mich persönlich dafür diesen Laden meiner Firma empfohlen zu haben, ich werde dort auch privat nicht mehr speisen und jedem den ich kenne davon abraten.

Ausserdem ist uns bekannt, dass Mitarbeiter ihres Restaurants 1-Stern Bewertungen auf unserer Homepage hinterlassen haben. Das ist armselig, da sie es doch sind die an jenem Abend die Rolle des Dienstleisters inne hatten.

An diesem Abend hat sich ein anderes, sehr gutes Restaurant über uns als Gäste...
