Da Bucolo — Restaurant in Bern

It was lunch time and my family (3 year old and 15 month old baby) and I were walking by this place and decided we would have something to eat.

We sat down and were ready to order, as we were not so hungry we wanted to order a pasta dish for the kids to share and a pizza to share for the wife and I. To my amazement they told us that sharing is not allowed and each and everyone of us would have to have a separate meal.

This is the only place I have come across that denied a family a meal because we wanted to share. When I asked to speak to the manager the staff said he was too busy to come down to talk. Therefore I paid for the drinks we had ordered and walked out (I should not have paid for the drinks with that service at all)

Clearly this is not a restaurant for families, nor is sharing allowed and the staff being very rude.. Basically no customer service.

Please stay well clear of this place.. Food maybe good but service is like a dirty toilet and I will inform others to stay away from this badly ran place. Plus am posting reviews all over the place now on this so called poor restaurant.

As for the manager.. Well I hope you happy with your self, that money must be getting to your head you sore loser.

Write your policy on the door.. And just tell families you are not allowed...

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent pizza, especially for the price, absolutely fantastic service. My classmate and I were on a school trip and we chose this restaurant. We were greeted by a smile. When the waitress misunderstood my classmate regarding the drink, she corrected the mistake. I ordered Peperoni Pizza, not knowing it was paprika, but the pizza still proved to be immaculate, especially for the price. Top-range taste for a mid-range price; the awards may say a lot, but the pizza speaks for itself. The waitress was kind, service was quick. The restaurant, inside, looks nicely rustic and warm, very welcoming, the chairs are very comfortable.

In conclusion, this is a really great pizzeria! Would definitely recommend it to others...

Talking about hospitality! After a day's journey I arrive to Bern, tired and hungry. I found this place online, and after reading the reviews, I decided to go here,instead of to another place closer to my hotel.I enter and see half of the tables free, and other half occupied.Two waitresses, both with very poor knowledge of English, come up to me, and as soon as they realized that I would be eating alone, they commented something (in Turkish, I guess, but definitely not Italian) and refused to serve me (to give me a table)!
