The food tastes fine, but the service is absolutely horrible. Most waiters won’t understand Italian, which is weird for an Italian restaurant, but even when you try to explain in English or German they don’t understand you anyway. We spent 3 minutes trying to explain that we want one big bottle of water to share, not 4 different small ones and they still brought the wrong thing. They don’t understand what coffees we want, had the hardest time understanding that I want an Americano, which is a coffee that has been made for me in every Italian restaurant I’ve gone to (I am from Ticino, Switzerland, so we have plenty of authentic Italian places). Then it takes 5 years for them to understand what kind of salads and pastas we want and who wants what. You need to really work on your service, because you are going to lose customers this way. We don’t have all day to explain to your waiters what we want because they won’t get it the first time. Anytime we order anything, they look oblivious like it’s the first time they’ve ever heard that dish being ordered. Please teach your staff Italian if they aren’t Italian, or at least have them say they don’t speak it because when they start speaking Italian and we speak back to them, they literally cannot hold up a conversation. Saying prego and come state is not enough to take our order. There are also tourists so maybe a good level of English would be even more helpful. Do you only expect German speaking clientele? Then open a German restaurant. The slowness and the lack of basic intelligence of your staff has ruined a few lunches for us and we are unlikely going to come back again, despite the amazing food that kept us coming back. No more, your staff is way too hard...
Read moreMe and my hubby had dinner here last night.. Pizza and antipasti was tasty!! However, that's not the main topic of my review!! We went to this restaurant without a reservation (a mistake we will apparently regret later on) but manager/welcoming lady/head waitress kindly got us a table anyway, specifying that the table was booked at 7.30 which gave us a good 1.5 hours to finish our dinner. We wanted to catch a movie afterward anyway, so we didn't really mind.
Our antipasti arrived half an hour later, which is oddly slow, considering that we ordered a selection of antipasti which was already laying there in the display case. But that's of course nothing when you compare that we had to wait for our pizza for another half an hour!! The pizza arrived at 7.25. As expected, it was impossible for us to finish it in 5 min and bugger off, as promised. This didn't prevent the waitress coming and suggesting we finish or move all our stuff to the bar, which was also jammed full with people. This is not to mention that irritating gazing of her before coming and warning us.. So we had no choice but stuff the food in our mouths as quickly as possible and pay the bill while still chewing!
Omg, what a disastrous dinner experience that was! When we complain to the manager/welcoming lady/head waitress about this experience, all we got was a lousy apology! Just because the manager/welcoming lady/head waitress can't communicate with the serving waitresses, we had to have a sloppy and disappointing dinner... Dinner here ruined our mood for the night.....

I was waiting for him and asked the employees at the restaurant for the possibility to eat something small but salty. They said NO unkindly as the kitchen was closed..The were many people in there, still eating and drinking. I said : "can we have bread, salt and olive oil, they said that there haven't got that. We sat outside after a while just to understand where to eat in Bern except Burger King. We came back to the restaurant and sat at a table outside. We ordered something to drink and asked for bread, he came suddenly with bread. I wanted to thank you for the bread, I did not have the time. The owner misunderstood my purpose, he shouted at me and pushed my chair threatening to call the police. My friend who is an elderly person, stood up, chocked and left. I called the police and explained. They came to understand what happened, they insisted but I was not that happy to have the police here. I said I can apologize to the owner for having asked for some bread but he has to apologise as well. Under the eyes of the police, he did not! He asked the police to come. I was mistreated. This man should...
