Pizzeria Molino is one of those rare few (if not the only) chain of pizzerias that actually knows how to make a decent pizza. I would give it a five star solely based on its pizza (My personal favorite is the Dolce-vita with Mozzarella Buffala). And if someone appreciates Italian food like I do, but is not a connoisseur of Italian cuisine like I am not, even then they should go there only for their specialty pizzas. The remaining items on the menu are at best above average.
The whole restaurant experience is quite nice. The Molino in Bern is a multi-storey establishment and each floor is small enough to give you a bistro like experience i.e. crowded, loud enough and not enough space between tables. Although in summer, they set up tables outdoors on the Waisenhausplatz and then you can enjoy your pizza in the sun. The waiters and chefs are very friendly and almost every one in the staff is Swiss Italian or Italian and you can find service in German, English and French.
Enough said! At this point, I suggest you go and create your own...
Read more"Excellent pizza, very friendly staff. Highly recommend it. Cheers" That was then, now things have changed, unfortunately to the worse. Molino has become a tourists attraction, I.e the food is not as good, the portions shrunk, the prices went sky high, and the service is unprofessional. Examples: mixed Salad costs 12 chf half a cherry tomato and a slice of cucumber and iceberg. A joke I have to say. The waitress brought us one pizza knife, I've asked for a second as we were two. Dhe gave the knife to me, holding the side that cuts in her palm. (Dangerous and dirty)I had to disinfect it before using. The best was when the two waitresses were discussing and trying tobtranslate something to English on top of a tourist's head. Both had long hair, the tourist's head looked funny, while she was trying to avoid having either ones hair landing in her mouth. Funny and disgusting at the same...

We were greeted with blank stares, ignored for most of our visit, and treated like an inconvenience rather than customers.
Now, the food. Where do I begin? Bland, greasy, and clearly microwaved. I wouldn’t serve this to my worst enemy. The “fresh” ingredients tasted like they came from a can, and everything we tried had the same weird aftertaste, like old oil or something far worse.
To top it off, the place was filthy. Sticky tables, dirty cutlery, and a strange smell that made us question our decision the moment we walked in. Trust me—there are plenty of better places to eat.
Do yourself a favor: skip El Molino. You’ll save your money, your time, and probably...
