When I first moved to Geneva, I visited this place after walking around shopping in the area and my feet needed a break. I had a terrible experience. I ordered a cocktail which took forever to order and to finally get it delivered to my table even longer. Then to get the check to leave, I had to really chase down the waitress again. Since I paid with credit card, she had to bring the machine over and she said something in French which I didn't understand. She then grab the credit card machine from me and punched in 25% tip for herself. I was shocked. I don't mind leaving a nice tip for someone who deserved it but for this lazy girl who was too busy flirting with customers - she definitely didn't deserve it. I really think this is a nice restaurant/bar but this review is just a warning to all to watch out for the staff. She called before coming to make sure our table was in the main area. When we arrived, we were taken to a table in the corner of the restaurant. We saw that our table was taken, so we approach the manager to figure out why. We were very disappointed due to the attitude and tone coming from the manager when we told him we reserved a table in the main area. He specifically argued "I don't remember that, this conversation never happened" After our extremely poor experience, I approached the manager and told him of my terrible first experience at Arthur's and that I found his person very unprofessional. Read moreThe location and ambience are good, always a pleasure to be there and to unwind, often with a client. Unfortunately, the service has been deteriorating rapidly, to the point where it now borders on arrogance and ignorance. It’s disheartening to see such a good place being dragged down by the attitude of its staff.
On our last visit, we had to wait far too long before even being able to place our order. Staff were present but seemingly more occupied with themselves than with guests. After repeated attempts to get their attention, our order was finally taken, a full 15 minutes after we arrived.
The service at the bar is especially disappointing. The person behind the counter came across as ego-driven, unwilling to support the team, and apparently too lazy to bring drinks to the table.
