Following the advice of few of my friends working in Geneva, we visited Bombay with very high expectations (with these friends along with us). Me and my vegetarian friends ordered bhindi masala, chana masala, rotis (Indian bread) and rice. My non-vegetarian friends will independently write their reviews. To our shock, we found that the quantity per item could not even barely feed a single person. The price of each vegetarian dish is 16 CHF and we counted less than 16 pieces of okras (small pieces) in our curry. As for the chana masala, again I have nothing good to add. We repeatedly requested the person waiting the table to make it Indian spicy while placing our order. What arrived was extremely bland and distasteful. It was clearly evident that the cook had not given any thought or effort during the preparation.
Besides, the behaviour of the staff was uncouth. We were not offered water even after asking for several times. At the end when our food was nearly finished, they provided us water. When we tried to talk to the waiter and later to the manager suggesting the constructive criticisms, they were completely unsympathetic and told us to write anything on the website. We were completely ignored and dismissed.
After having eaten almost nothing, we paid a whopping 121 CHF. With our pockets and stomachs both empty, we came out of the restaurant promising to ourselves never to visit it again. There are a good number of decent Indian restaurants in the same neighbourhood.
I would strongly discourage people to visit this joint if they are interested to taste authentic Indian food. I reiterate again that there are extremely good restaurants both in Geneva and other places in Europe which have much better food, service, behaviour and value for money.
Being extremely dissatisfied, I give this place no stars (but in practice I have to be content...
Read moreOne of Geneva's halal eateries. The food was really good. I ordered beef vindaloo, basmati rice with safran, masala tea and dessert. Total cost was CHf 45. It's a bit too much for one person especially if you don't earn in CHf, lol. The tea comes in a pot, but it's just a small pot, sharing is not recommended unless if you don't mind getting 3/4 glass if shared with another person. Please read the menu carefully as they clearly stated rice is not included in the dish, so if you think that they come in set, you are wrong. Overall I really enjoyed the meal. The beef portion suits 2 person by the way because I couldn't finish them. Rice is for 1 person portion. On a side note, I watched the final World Cup 2022 match here Argentina vs France. Great...
Read moreAs a tourist you have to be careful dining in at this place. Cuz They might rob you in a day light. To be fair the food we had was great! But always be conscious! We ordered chicken masala for 26 CHF and it turns out the rice was not included with the meal. So we have to pay extra for the rice and piece of papadum that most indian resto serves that as a complimentary. Although the advertisement board says “menu” but it doesn’t matter cuz we saw it later that day. also just be aware on ordering beverages because they will give you an expensive one by mistake! The waiter will open the bottle first then will ask if it’s okay?! And as a tourist you won’t mind ofcourse, but then you’ll be in shock...
