Café Verdaine — Restaurant in Geneva

I recently visited this restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations, particularly given its supposed 4.6 rating (which, in my opinion, is misleading).

To start, the fish dish priced at 40 CHF was incredibly disappointing. It tasted like something straight out of a supermarket freezer and was nowhere near the quality you’d expect for that price. The bread served with the meal wasn’t fresh either, adding to the sense that attention to detail in quality was lacking.

The service was another major letdown. The waiters were slow and unresponsive, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. Adding to this, the salads were served after the hot dishes, a strange misstep in timing that disrupted the flow of the meal.

Overall, the experience was not worth the price or the hype. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant unless they address these issues and strive for the quality that diners expect when paying such...

It’s one of the restaurants where kitchen is open before 18. We found it based on Google reviews. It was completely empty but we liked it. Restaurant is full of paintings with cats which we liked too. Waiters don’t speak good English but they tried their best to recommend us the food. To be fair though we’ve got different salad than we ordered and I personally didn’t like it much. But lamb was really good, so soft and so big portion that we could hardly finish it. Recently they restarted this restaurant. It's crowded during the day, but not so much at night now, making it a great choice. The food and drinks are delicious. The servers, owner, and kitchen staff are all very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed the white wine recommended by the servers and ended up purchasing it from the restaurant for home. It was a wonderful experience. I'll definitely be back soon!

Why am I limited to giving only five stars for the service I experienced here? An exceptional server deserves an additional two stars....
