Tea Room -Terrible service!! I have been coming to Auer for over a decade... I arrived with my baby & a silent chihuahua to an empty tea room. As a nursing Mom, ladies know how thirsty and tired one can get - I was just trying to take a short break, have some water and chocolate to get my energy back. While sitting down with my baby in my arms and a small dog I ordered 2 chocolate moelleux & sparkling water. They were confused if they had any cakes left even though I saw 2 on the tray. The main waitress promptly started yelling at me to get my dog off the old, faux leather seating. Even though small dogs are generally welcomed everywhere (in the Four Seasons cafe the gave my a velvet bench for him), I understood her request and was trying to get myself, my child and the dog organized to go - I said, please just tell me if you have the cakes and I'll take them and leave SO you'll have nothing to worry about. But, instead they put an open bottle of water in front of me that I didn't want to drink if I couldn't stay. She came up to the table and stood over me yelling repeatedly to get my dog off - they wouldn't respond to me or give me the cakes. I WAS SHOCKED AND DISAPPOINTED at the aggressive, rude behavior. Nothing excuses this way of treating a customer. I am a local - this is my city… and this is how I get treated!? Auer needs to seriously review their service clientele in the tea room. This is beyond rude to make Genevois feel...
Read moreI went to the store twice today and I got greeted by a very unpleasant asian woman. She was rude and racist to me, a middle eastern hijabi woman, and my husband. The first time I bought some chocolates and asked for her to wrap it she declined saying that they only do that during the summer season, I accepted that and kept quiet and ignored the fact that i’ve seen them wrapping chocolates for the customers before me. However, the second time I went to the store that day I bought more chocolates and a french lady was serving me instead as she was about to wrap my chocolate for me I heard her asian colleague tell her in french “ribbon only” thinking that I did not understand. I instantly called her out on it and her colleague covered up for her and told me that they probably just had a busy day today that’s why she didn’t want to wrap it, changing the narrative. So wrapping is only available for white european people and declined for people of color which is a shame because she is also of color but maybe her anger is with arabs or muslims. Have you ever seen a chocolate shop that doesn’t offer wrapping? Absolutely disappointing since I’ve been a customer in this store for years, what a very very bad experience. It’s...
Read moreI went with the crowd and search out this chocolatier in Geneva. Amazing google reviews are harder to resist than the chocolates from this store.
I spent £50 on a tiny box of chocolates because I really wanted to try "the best chocolatier in the world" as claimed by a google reviewer.
If you are a foodie or a person who knows their chocolates, then you will be disappointed.
I had earlier in the day bought a box from an unknown brand in Le Chamonix, and the chocolates were genuinely well made and tasted amazing.
AUER is a poor cross between Cadbury's in look and feel, and tastes like the even poorer Wedel.
