Despite initially being drawn by positive Google reviews, our lunch experience at this establishment left us feeling disappointed.
The staff exhibited carelessness and unprofessionalism, making it difficult to recommend this place unless there are no other Indian restaurants available in the vicinity. While the atmosphere and location were pleasant, the actual dining experience fell short.
We ordered the Kadhai paneer, yellow dal, and dal makhni combo, along with lassi and masala Chaanch as our beverages. Initially, we were served one less rice plate with the explanation that rice was complimentary and would be provided later to prevent wastage. However, when we received our food, we found the portion size did not justify the price.
The dal lacked flavor and was unappetizing, while the Kadhai paneer tasted less than fresh. Naans are not fresh. The service was notably subpar; during our meal, the waiter failed to check on us, and my wife had to approach the restaurant owner to request the rice plate.
The unprofessionalism continued when we received the bill. We discovered an erroneous charge for the rice plate. Upon bringing this to their attention, the restaurant owner shifted blame to the waiter, displaying a casual attitude. We assumed it was a simple mistake and proceeded to pay the bill.
However, our ordeal didn't end there. After making the payment, we noticed an unauthorized charge of 50 euros on our card, exceeding the bill amount. When we confronted the owner, he nonchalantly canceled the previous bill and assured us the amount would be refunded, without any apologetic tone. He attributed this error to a customer who had inquired about a prayer room, further highlighting the establishment's lackadaisical approach.
It appears that the restaurant owner may be relying on the location's appeal rather than providing excellent service and quality food to customers, leaving us with an impression of arrogance overshadowing the...
Read moreI recently visited Delhi Darbaar Restaurant and unfortunately had an extremely unsatisfactory dining experience. The overall taste of the food was below par, leaving me disappointed and regretful. I would strongly advise others against trying this restaurant.
From the moment I entered, the ambiance seemed promising, but it quickly became clear that the quality of the food did not match the pleasant surroundings. The flavors were dull, lacking the authentic essence that one would expect from a restaurant specializing in Delhi cuisine. It felt as though the dishes had been hastily prepared, with little attention given to the delicate balance of spices and flavors.
As someone who appreciates good food and enjoys exploring different culinary experiences, it is disheartening to encounter such a lackluster establishment. I was truly disappointed by the quality of the food and the overall dining experience at Delhi Darbaar Restaurant. I would strongly advise potential diners to reconsider and explore other options in the area that offer a more authentic and enjoyable taste of Delhi cuisine.
In conclusion, my visit to Delhi Darbaar Restaurant left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. The underwhelming food, leads me to suggest that you look elsewhere for a delightful dining...
Read morePlease do not waste your precious time and money at this place during Interlaken, especially when there are 10 OTHER Indian restaurants in the area. Just like others we went for dinner after seeing good reviews about the food. We were extremely disappointed with the following: TERRIBLE price/quantity ratio of the food. One simple curry item is supposed to be 26 francs per person, this is outrageous! You can instead go to some of the nearby places like Taj Palace which offer much better quantity for a cheaper amount and the quality of food is the same if not better. Quality of the food was NOT GOOD, not enough spice even in a dish we told them to make spicy. It didn't feel as if the food was tasty by any means which is what we saw from prior reviews. For the price you pay for the curry, naan, and other entrees, it is definitely not worth it. We visited in the middle of a heat wave (quite rare) in Europe and they refused to put on the A/C even though they have it in the restaurant. It was almost 95+ F and they had the doors open, it was insufferable!
If Google didn't make me give one star I would not even give it that, our experience...
