Second review after 6 years - the day we arrived Switzerland, Interlaken. We decided we have to come back here and bring our friends as well. Its good to see the restaurant expanded. We ordered 3 vege platter, soft drinks. But we were not happy dining there as the service wasnt great. The people that i know and used to know were unfriendly. No smiles, not so helpful. And they no longer serve basic water. No thank you either when we left. We wanted it to be our base food place during this 12 days trip but now we will not come back cos we dont feel welcome at all which is the basic attribute. The warmth hospitality that i always get from any middle eastern joint is missing here.
Also, there were lots of flies - big ones and they kept coming back to our food. It’s uncomfortable cos while eating we have to keep chasing the flies. They should purchase the insect electric killer since the summer is back.
Food quality is not bad - okay. But there is a saying no matter how great or good or reasonable your food is, but if the service lack - nobody will come back.
But if the food is okayish, and the service is great, highly likely people will still come back to support you and have conversations with you, give you feedback so that you will grow and become better so more people will continue to support.
Seems that they pick and choose who to be friendly with looking at their recent reviews. From their humble days to upbeat place now, i just hope they will do something to not jeopardise their old humble beginnings.

the location is great, the food is really awesome, the staffs and the chef are extremely friendly and professional. honestly coming from singapore (im picky) and being a foodie, I judge based on 4 things - food, location, staffs and consistency. I'm surprised that the overall score is 3.9 when 90% the ratings are above 4 at least.
it's really good - I love it.
it makes me yearn to go to...
Read moreThe food was quite average compared to other parts of Europe and noticeably more expensive. Portion sizes were unclear, especially with items like the 4-person platter, where it wasn’t mentioned how many pieces of each item were included.
The service was very disappointing. The waitstaff were unfriendly and seemed unwilling to accommodate or even communicate properly. We ordered food for four adults because our three kids don’t eat Lebanese food. Despite this, we were given smaller portions, and when we raised the concern, the staff responded rudely, saying we were eating with kids and should have ordered more. They didn’t take the time to understand that we purposely avoided ordering extra to prevent food waste.
Unfortunately, their English was poor, and their overall attitude was unprofessional. It felt like they were doing us a favor instead of providing a service. The mixed grill didn’t taste great either, which only added to the disappointment.
I won’t be returning to this place, nor would I recommend it to anyone. I sincerely hope they consider hiring staff who understand basic customer service and receive proper training in hospitality and...
Read moreHere’s the thing - the food was solid and that’s the only reason I gave it 2 stars. Otherwise I want to give it a 0 or 1. So there’s something wrong with the person who I think is the manager (the chubby individual - saying only for sake of identification). Before we went inside, he said to look at the menu if we want to eat there, as if to say “You don’t need to eat here” and left us. Mind you, we’ve never met. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and said we’ll eat after looking at the menu.
Then throughout, he seemed to avoid us and give us some kind of attitude. We were wondering if it’s closing time, too busy, or him just having a bad day, BUT when other people came in, he welcomed them kindly and attentively AND didn’t show them the menu at the entrance like he did to us. Lastly, he quickly gave us the bill on the side of our big table and left, as if to avoid us again.
I don’t like to pull the race card, but we’re both South Asian and every guest he was kind to was Arab, like him. I hope it had nothing to do with that because Arabs are known to be super hospitable!
Regardless, the rest of the staff were kind.
P.S. there is alcohol in...
