Spice Village Indian Restaurant Review
We stopped by Spice Village Indian Restaurant in Interlaken for a quick bite after our activities. Despite it being mid-afternoon, the restaurant had a wide variety of options available. We ordered the Punjabi Paneer Parotha and Aloo Parotha, which turned out perfect and delicious.
Highlights:
Variety of Options: The menu had a great selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, catering to our preferences. Friendly Owner: The owner was humble, spoke good English, and was often near the guests, chatting and welcoming. He seemed eager to attract more customers despite the competition from nearby restaurants. Quality Food: The parothas we ordered were tasty and satisfying, making us plan to return for dinner.
Overall Experience:
We enjoyed our visit to Spice Village and appreciated the owner's hospitality. The restaurant's menu variety and food quality made a great impression, and we look forward to coming back for dinner.

Read moreWe are a family of 4, including 2 young kids and visited this restaurant today. We ordered a tandoori biryani and green chilli seesh kebab, a roti and a butter naan. While the food tasted good, we unfortunately FOUND A FLY COOKED IN THE KEBAB! We discretely notified the manager and he took the kebab platter away and offered a replacement, which we declined. We understandably were not comfortable to finish our food as we had lost confidence in the hygiene of the restaurant. We told the manager, again discretely, we would pay for the roti and naan as the kids had eaten them but would not pay for the rest as we were not finishing the food. The manager made a scene, abused my wife and insisted we pay for everything but the kebab or he would call the police. He would not own up to the situation and kept insulting us. Because he was abusing us we told the other customers who had kids and they also left. The manager told us apparently people in India eat food with flies in it, no problem!!!! AVOID OR RISK FOOD POISONING AND RUINING...
Read moreSpice Village offers a vibrant taste of India, and my recent visit was made even better by the kind and respectful owner. The friendly and kind atmosphere added to the charm. The very welcoming service made it a great experience. The Chicken Biryani was a standout, with fragrant rice and tender, well-spiced chicken that created a comforting and satisfying dish. The portion size was generous, making it perfect for sharing or enjoying as a hearty meal.
The pakoras were also a hit, delivering a crispy, savory crunch that was hard to resist. The assortment of vegetables was fresh, and the batter was perfectly seasoned, enhancing the natural flavors of each piece. They were an excellent start to the meal, whetting the appetite for more.
The owner’s kindness and respectfulness really stood out, making the visit all the more pleasant.
Overall, Spice Village provides a solid dining experience with its flavorful dishes, inviting atmosphere, and welcoming service. It's a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy authentic...
