We visited Tandoori Restaurant in Interlaken, a Pakistani restaurant run by owners originally from Sialkot, Pakistan, though it is presented as an Indian restaurant. While the flavors leaned more towards Pakistani cuisine (which we normally appreciate), the experience overall was very disappointing.

The food was mediocre, and the meat did not taste fresh. Within an hour of eating, several of us began to feel unwell, and my young daughter became severely sick, vomiting multiple times in the car afterward. This raised serious concerns about food safety and hygiene.

I had chosen this restaurant based on many positive reviews, but later noticed that the staff were actively handing out review cards and asking guests to write feedback immediately, in front of the owner’s wife. This explains why so many of the ratings may appear inflated and not reflect the true quality of the dining experience.

My request to the management: • Be transparent about the restaurant’s true identity — this is a Pakistani restaurant, not Indian, and there is nothing wrong with proudly representing that. • Focus on food quality and safety — ensure only the freshest meat is used and that the kitchen is properly sanitized. • Provide better support for staff. The owner’s wife, though kind, seemed overworked and exhausted, constantly greeting customers without a place to sit or rest. Hiring professional staff would greatly improve service. • Create a more professional dining environment. During our visit, the family’s children were moving between inside and outside the restaurant, which did not create a comfortable or organized setting for guests.

I rarely write negative reviews, but in this case, I feel it is important for others to be aware. With better quality control, hygiene, and professionalism, this restaurant could truly reflect the best of Pakistani cuisine. I hope management takes this...
