It’s a very central cafe, good position. It’s also quite spacious, on 3 floors. The food (we had only the brunch - see picture -, can’t say anything about lunch) was also good, we couldn’t complain about that. The service though.. I tried to call to make a reservation the evening before, I called 7 times in 2 hours, but nobody picked up. I had to call the same day to make the reservation. The waitress told us to sit upstairs, so we did. We waited for longer than 15 minutes and nobody was coming, so we had to call the waiter ourselves. As mentioned, we tried the breakfast/brunch. In the menu it states that you can choose coffee, tea or chocolate for beverage. We chose one among the list of coffees (there’s another list aside for “special coffees”, we supposed that those were not the included ones, so we just chose among the “normal coffees” list), but it turns out, they were also “too special” so we had to pay for additional charges. Unfortunately the waitress didn’t even mention it as we ordered, thanks. And of course no mention on the menu. (Just to compare, we changed a croissant to a “special” one. For that we had to pay extra 1 franc, which was completely ok, since it states in the menu, something like “every change will be charged”, but as already mentioned, nothing about the coffee. I didn’t find it fair)
So overall, good food quality but personally pretty bad service experience. There are so many nice places in Lausanne, I can’t...
Read moreI am not recommend u this place totally. There is a very bad service. not qualified. Me and my husband have come to drink just Aperol Shpritz. And this simple cocktail was prepared not correct. we got an aperol without a straw (how I can drink coctail without tube?? This coctail should be! It rule for this kind of Aperativo!) and it was with a lemon inside (should be orange!!!- Ot is Aperol - Guys, who was teach u on bar drinks? ) On the table was totally empty. They brought us nuts as snacks and we had to eat it by our hands, but they didn’t give us napkins, for clean hands after this snacks!!
When we was sitting and drank our aperol, the attendants went around and did a global thorough cleaning around us! They sprayed detergent next to us, and shook out the seat cushions, pillows for sit , and then put this pillows on to the neighbor tables.
It was at 18:20 time. And besides us there were still many other customers. That is, should be to carry out a capital cleaning during the work time with customers inside??? When I drank this aperol without a tube and with a lemon inside, and breathed this smell of dust, I even imagined for a minute that I was not in Switzerland, but in some kind of eatery in India. I believe that any self-respecting place will not allow such a bad service. Where the owner...
Read moreExtremely Disappointing Experience at Coccinelle Café – Avoid We were just passing from the Lausanne and we just stopped to have breakfast. The coffee was, at best, mediocre. The food was equally bland, and the poached egg was practically raw. But the worst part by far was the service, which bordered on unacceptable.
The waiter served the coffee spilled all over the saucer. Instead of replacing it, she casually wiped it with a napkin in front of us and handed it back – still wet and stained. She took our order while the riddle from her crossword was still on the table – perhaps she was too tired to care, even though it was only 10:30 AM.
We were given a bottle of water without any glasses. When we finally got some, they were old, cloudy, and full of scratches – clearly overused and not properly maintained. It felt like they had given up entirely – the whole place gave off an air of neglect. The state of the bathrooms didn’t help either – only moderately clean and lacking any real sense of style or upkeep.
Either the management no longer cares, or this place is quietly preparing to shut down. In any case, I would not recommend it to anyone. Total...
