I’m so glad we decided to dine here! A few of the reviews were off-putting, so we almost didn’t. What a mistake that would have been! We made the reservation at the very last minute, so we received the proverbial table by the kitchen. Can you believe that only made the experience better? The maitre d’ was elegant and charming and patient with his American guests as he and the other wait staff went gliding about the very, very busy dining room, delivering impeccable service and wonderful food. The decor is very classic 1950’s high style perfectly done, all glowing woods and polished brass and gleaming tableware. Everything was immaculate and as it should be. My husband and I both had the warm goat cheese salad as appetizers, which were large enough and delicious enough to have been our meals. I had the tenderloin of beef, perfectly prepared with a bearnaise sauce, along with steamed vegetables. My husband enjoyed the roasted chicken immensely, as it was moist and delicious. Our desserts and coffee were as excellent as all the rest. I really can’t say enough about the wait staff. Dressed in long-sleeved white shirts, grey vests, ties, and floor length aprons, they were dressed more beautifully than many of their guests. Sitting near the kitchen was like having a box seat at the ballet, as we watched the staff execute their duties with grace and style. We enjoyed every moment and...
Read moreFound this restaurant in The Fork with special discount so we thought we give it a go . . . . The service is good. Friendly greeting . The food, however, is not so good. The taste is rather bland and salty. White asparagus was overcooked. The beef was first cooked well done so we asked if we could get medium rare as we ordered. So by the time the beef arrived again my scallop was already cold. The waiter brought a new fries for my hubby but then confused which one is the new one so the use his hand to touch fries to check which one is still hot 😱 The side veggie is . . . soggy and indescribable . Oh well... . In the end the lady waitress said sorry. So we left some tips for her spirit but really disappointed with the...
