I would first ask Google to give an option with NO stars. In short -- Food: Pathetic. Service: not that great. Atmosphere: small place Management: no sense
In Detail -- Food: We ordered mattar pulav, Naan, chicken khorma handi, chicken biryani, Mattar paneer, also a starter and dessert. Mattar pulav - it was the worst pulav I had. The rice was half cooked and oily. When we told this to the staff he said will inform to the chef. That's it. Naan - completely burned out chicken khorma handi - while ordering, the staff said it will be sweet, and we accepted and ordered. But when we tasted, it was blunt. No sweetness and nothing. It was some kind of curry with chicken in it. Chicken biryani - instead of this name, then can rename it as tamarind rice with chicken. It doesn't taste like biryani, instead a tasteless biryani which had very few boneless chicken pieces. In biryani I took out a piece that had masala and it tasted as tamarind. However this rice doesn't come under the category of biryani. Mattar paneer - the paneer was hard, doesn't seem to be a fresh one. Tasted below average.
Service: After placing order, they bring all the items together. That's not a problem, but it's better to ask, if you want the starters first and then the main course, and then the dessert. I have been to many restaurants in Europe and mostly they follow the order of bringing one after the other by watching us. However here, then take order, bring everything at one time and move away.
Atmosphere: this is a small place and they have dinning outside as well. In the small place why do they allow to bring the pets? If someone wants to eat while bringing their pets, they can advice to sit outside or leave the pets outside and enter the hotel. We were eating and someone came with their dog and sat next to our table. We were almost done with our food and the dog was shedding and it's hairs were flying everywhere, almost landing on our plates. I can't complain on the dog or its owner. If the restaurant doesn't allow then they would not have brought it in.
Management: I believe Mr.X might be the owner. Shouldn't a staff working in the restaurant use the washroom meant for the guests? One of the staff member used the washroom and Mr.X was scolding him in front of everyone. Is it a crime to use it? Okay if Mr.X has a rule that staff should use a different washroom, then he can say it to him by taking him to the backdoor and not infront of the guest who are eating. The person works for the restaurant and not a slave there. I would say Mr.X to treat everyone equally and respect their feeling. Being nice to the guest and arrogant to the staff...
Read moreALERT: In Switzerland food in restaurants is very expensive than any other part of the world!
After having travelled through almost whole of Europe through many cities and many countries for a month, we just landed in Lucerne and searched through Google and found this place to have our dinner, though the overall rating is not to our liking! We ordered Dal Tadka (20 CHF), plain rice (5 CHF), chicken biriyani (26 CHF), baingon bhajia (8 CHF) and lassi (4.5 CHF) totalling 63.5 CHF.
Dal, though fresh and somewhat tasty, wasn’t made of the traditional toor dal but of bengal gram dal. Lassi was tasting good but was watery and came in a very small glass! Chicken biriyani rice had an okay masala but with lots of rice and very hardly any chicken pieces in it. Those few Chicken pieces weren’t cooked properly and they hadn’t carried any masala or flavour into them. No infusion of even salt into them and looked like as if someone mixed the separately semi-cooked pieces into the precooked rice. Raita, which usually comes with salty note was sweet and couldn’t be relished. Baingon bhajia stood its class with very nice flavour and taste but were only 3 pieces for 8 CHF. The one redeeming fact was free supply of papads with no charge but they could have been crispy!
We are from Canada and for us every item looked very pricey. One piece of bhajia is 4 CAD! We were wondering about our Indian counterparts price wise how they will feel as three pieces bhajia cost 750 INR, meaning one piece of bhajia is 250 INR! Our total came to 63.5 CHF meaning about 100 CAD and about 6,000 INR.
We sure will stay away generally eating outside here and try natural ways of eating instead of looking for cooked food outside for this price and...
Read moreRestaurant looks promising but fails to deliver. Food is terrible. i live in Milan and have travelled to most of Europe and never have i seen Indian food restaurant failing me so badly. We arrived at restaurant on a Saturday evening for dinner. We ordered Dal, Paneer and Roti. Simple Stuff which you would expect cannot go wrong, considering your are in a restaurant. Firstly, the service: very bad, staff is not attentive, they will take your order but will not serve you water unless you ask for it. Seems basic stuff but not done right. Then ordering food again, they will take order with promptness but then just forget you. Our order came after 35 mins of ordering. Then the Food, ok if food is good then you can say its worth the wait. However, not the case, Dal makhani we ordered was useless, never have i eaten Dal with such a horrible taste. Being a punjabi myself, i know what a Dal Makhani is all about and the associated flavor. But Dal here is all about garlic. Anyways then came our Paneer, it looked like that it was just made, which is good thing right, so that it is fresh. But no. Paneer was like it was just taken out of refrigerator and made to swim in already precooked gravy from morning with no care for spices and flavor. Roti was hard enough for chewing and they will just dump the entire order once so that the bread will become hard once it is kept there on the table. Normally breads are served hot over the course of meal. And then the price, after all of this you have to pay a quite a good price for what you have eaten and regret that why did we came to this place and then write a...
