Ristorante Il Cortile — Restaurant in Lucerne

Horrible and rude service! I dont understand how can they have good reviews. We went for a lunch on Sunday. There were just 3 tables that were finished with their meals already but the waitress seemed stressed. After ordering a meal we also asked for a cappuccino. But the waitress made a weird face like „are you crazy“ and left. At first I thought it was just joke. But she did not bring it. Then we thought maybe the coffee machine was broken. But the tables around us were ordering coffees and she made it to them. Like what? I was so shocked and wanted to leave even though thry haven’t brought us food yet. But i didn’t want to be rude. Even the food could not made up for this horrible experience. This never happened to me in my life that the waitress would refuse to bring me something thats on the menu..What kind of restaurant is this???? Does the owner know? I guess they do because according to other reviews the bad service is a common knowledge there....

We arrived in Luzern in the afternoon and walked the rivers edge and surrounding streets. To our joy we found Il Cotile and snapped a picture to call when they opened.

Wow, one of the finest dining experiences i have had in many years. My wife and i phoned to see if there was availability, thank goodness there was.

We were greeted like family. We let them know we are pescatarian and for them to make the meal (4 or 5 course) and wine. What a smile from our host Salvatore and off he went. He returned over the dining experience with a joyous beam of delight and incredible dishes. From appetizers, salads, main course and deserts.

We did go to another resultant the next night, after sitting and reviewing the menu we both looked at one another and decided to go back to Il Cortile. Another amazing dining experience!!!!

Lovely italian restaurant. Most pasta/risotto can be set as an appetizer or main (with price differences). Had the pasta with olive oil and tomato for the appetizer. A beef fillet with gorgonzola risotto as a main and semifreddo as as the dessert. Highlight was definitely the beef fillet. Was so tender and flavorful. The risotto had a distinctive strong gorgonzola...
