Soul Chicken — Restaurant in Lucerne

As a deep fried chicken lover. I have tried almost all restaurants served deep fried chicken in Luzern. And Soul Chicken so far has the the best taste for me. It’s a small well-decorated cozy restaurant with 2 waiters and the owner. I was surprised why people gave them such low credit. If I can say something for this restaurant. I will say “Minimum consumption” is quite common among the world. Maybe Soul Chicken can put a notification directly to inform people please do order something while sitting the this small restaurant. So next time there won’t have customers felt humiliated when they just want to sit in and not ordering and left a bad reference after. As to the service attitude. I went there alone and I got a table for 4 persons because it was available. I was served immediately. The owner came to my table and bend over and ask if I have decided what to order. No ones gave me a face for I just ordered one chicken wings without any side dishes. I’ll say it’s the same treat as I went eating in a restaurant in 5 stars hotel. As to the food portion. I thank my stars that Google suggested Soul Chicken. From the outside you would miss it at it has no sign, but the delicious smell will tempt you in. We went on a very hot June evening when the restaurant was busy. The owner found us a table at the back, and they had fans blowing throughout the restaurant so it never got too hot. But the chicken...oh my days that chicken. We had a portion of wings, a half chicken and fries, and a delicious side salad that was nicely dressed and had mint. The wings are the best! I'd go back again and again for those. The dishes all come "Soul Sauce" in a little bowl (although the 1/2 chicken is drizzled in it too) for you to dip your bread, chicken, or fries in and they should bottle that stuff because it is delicious! The restaurant has an eclectic mix of decor, with a bohemian homeliness to it, and lots to see on the walls surrounding you. It's a gem of a place, with great food, and a wonderful friendly team that take great pride in what they do. If you like simple food cooked well, then this is the place...

We went to the restaurant by accident, during a hike through the city we spotted extraordinarily looking spot. The Soul Chicken. We ordered well... The chicken. The Menu to share for +2 people. First came the salad, which honestly was pretty good, but it came with "freshly baked bread" that was couple of pieces of sliced bread reheated in the oven. But fine, pretty common practice especially if the place is called "Soul Chicken" not "Soul Salad". Then it came the chicken. It was EXTREMELY dry. It seemed like it was first baked for a bit to long and then deep fried. Dry, dry, dry. Then it came to paying. In German menu it says "pro pers.". In eng it just says small "Pp". Sooo...
