Came here with my family and left feeling uncomfortable. When we walked in, we greeted the staff but only got a silent smile back. I understand people have different preferences and I donât expect a greeting in response. However, the subtle awkward expression on her face made me feel strange. But again, I was ready to move on.
My dad ordered a hot Americano and the staff gave a mocking laugh (not a friendly one) and said, âobviously itâs hot.â Where Iâm from (Australia) and in many places Iâve travelled, iced Americanos exist, so the reaction felt unnecessary.
When I ordered an iced latte (which is one of their signature drinks), she gave the same mocking laugh for a couple times and pointed to the board saying, âyes, we have these for you to choose from.â Iâm still not sure what was so funny.
The coffee and atmosphere might be good, but the attitude really put a damper on the experience. I know some people have PBA which they canât uncontrollable laugh. Unless the staff member had PBA (in which case I completely understand), the tone and behaviour came across as rude and unwelcoming. However, after all it still doesnât justify her rude expression on her face.
Please feel free to respond and correct me if I misunderstand anything. Iâm also looking forward to receiving...

Still recovering financially from this experience. The most expensive manual brew I've ever come across. Not sure how it's justified, even an SCA 95 coffee wouldn't retail at CHF25.00 per serving. Then obviously at that price, it NEEDS to be perfectly executed... cheapest v60 was CHF12.00. (How?)
Staff was pretty cold, and uninviting. A pitty, as Specialty Coffee in Switzerland is not a big thing. Was really looking forward, was let down. Price vs outcome didn't match. And staff didn't seem all too keen to talk coffee. An integral experience of speciality coffee is discussions with the barista about their coffee. (The cafe was empty).
Maybe just unlucky and caught the staff on an off day. Place has something unique and definitely contributes to Switzerland's Specialty Coffee scene, no doubt. Hope it remains a staple in Montreux's...
Read moreI think this place simultaneously has the best cappuccino I have ever tried (not bitter at all) and the best matcha in Montreux! They also have specialty coffees but Iâm not an expert on these. I think this is my favorite Montreux cafe so far. The service is friendly and there is WiFi for those working. The vibe is nice, but please can there be more comfortable seats? It hurts to sit on the wooden stools, especially since many people do some computer work at this cafe (like me). Itâs super cozy but needs...
