Gaucho — Restaurant in Zurich

If you’re a fan of high-quality meat, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Located in the heart of Zurich, right in Kreis 4, it combines great food with an incredible atmosphere. Outside, there’s a charming courtyard in the back that’s perfect for enjoying a meal. It’s incredibly inviting, especially for a relaxed dinner for two. The quiet, peaceful setting makes it the ideal spot to unwind, far from the hustle and bustle, yet still very much in the city.

The team is friendly, professional, and attentive, adding to the welcoming vibe. The owner’s warm hospitality makes the whole experience even more special.

As for the food, it’s simply fantastic. The quality of the meat is outstanding, and they get the grilling just right every time – something that’s often hard to find. The homemade Chimichurri, available in both mild and spicy versions, is a perfect complement to the meal.

Invited by a friend that he paid the dinner. Poor to bad experience.

The table was not available on the time that was reserved. The service was nice to serve drinks while we were waiting outside.

Meat and sides were tasty.

We ordered a red wine from the list. The waiter that must be the owner came back telling us that they do not have it and that he will bring a better one... He served us an average bottle that was not at all in the list.

We had maybe the cheapest and worst deserts ever. Latte die Leche was just sweet and basic like from the can. However, the berries tiramisu was just a very cheap version of tiramisu with berry syrup on top. The taste really reminded me of antibiotics. The Creme Catalana was even worst. The cream wan not homogenized well and had agglomerates.

The price went over 100CHF per person. The overall experience was poor and definitely, didn't deserve all this spent. The place doesn`t deserve its reputation.

The owner gave the impression that he will be able to sell you whatever he likes at super expensive prices.

We all felt pity of our friend that invited us there and paid for our dinner...

We have been there on a Saturday night and it was fully crowded, so reservation is definitely recommended.

When we came in we had to wait for our last friend for about 30min. It took the waitress about 15 minutes to come to our table and ask if we want some drinks. Then as soon as the additional friend came she brought another beer without even ordering it - well, why not.

As a starter we took the antipasti. First, they just brought 2 instead of 4 portions - nevermind. They were delicious and a good start but really pricey (CHF 24.- per person).

Then as a main we all took a good piece of meat. Like usual, we got asked how well we want it to be cooked and it even was described in the menu. We all ordered "medium" (according to the menu 1/2 cooked). Well, when we received it it was not even near 1/2 cooked but all red.

On top, they also charged extra for the sides, which is questionable when you pay over CHF 50.- for the meat.

Long story short; the restaurant is pretty much average and not worth the money. We paid CHF 110.- per person without having...
