Sora Sushi — Restaurant in Zurich

In Summary:

PROS: High quality, authentic fresh and delicious food from Japan. Food was prepared fast.

CONS: Even though my friend had made a prior table booking/reservation beforehand, none of the service staff showed us to our table after I indicated the reservation under our friend's name at the entrance, and we were left on our own, lost, not knowing that the other side of the restaurant was already an entirely different restaurant (Oscar Cafe) and was not part of Sora Sushi. Discriminating to one's race and nationality (service staff questioning and talking down on our country, race and nationality and looking down on Germans and Native Americans, which has nothing to do with trying to make our full payment before dining). Forced mandatory tipping (the online payment system gave no option to not tip and had a slide bar for mandatory tipping where you were only allowed to slide to select your percentage of tipping amount) before any service is rendered and before dining via the QR code online payment system. Mandatory online payment and discrimination towards customers who wish to pay in cash (also, no receipts are issued for paying in cash). Basically, they denied us paying in cash and there were NO SIGNS in the restaurant that stated that they only accepted cashless payment on their web form, which would require us to divulge our personal data and info. Discrimination to middle aged, disabled or elderly people. The toilet requires a secret number code password, which customers do not know of and only get to find out after having to climb down a long flight of stairs to the basement and getting stuck with trying to figure out how to enter the toilet (a great pain to elderly people or with physical pain or bladder/medical issues). NOT Tourist friendly for tourists who don't have a local Swiss phone line and do not wish to use their expensive international data to access the QR Code online payment order form and system. The restaurant's WLAN required divulging personal data and info like our phone number (in which we were ridiculed for having a German phone number and being Germans who don't know the Swiss culture and system) before they would give us the secret number passcode for using the WLAN.

The fantastic and high quality food was not enough to cancel out the torment and traumatic experience we faced throughout our entire dining duration, + the fact of being constantly ridiculed by the arrogant wait staff about us being of a lower class for not being of...

The food was great, but the service was too slow and unresponsive... especially for a location right by the busy Zürich HB Main Station.

Once I was seated at the sushi conveyor belt, I could not get the attention of the wait staff to serve me. The restaurant wasn't that busy, but the patio had a lot of people. I even had to walk to bar and ask for a glass of water since no one came to serve me despite my repeated requests.

Since I was seated at the conveyor belt, I could serve myself, but was limited to what was available on the belt. I never had the chance to order a drink or anything else specific that I wanted.

After a while of waiting, I decided to end my dinner early and leave, but again I could not get the final bill to my table. So I just stood up ready to leave, which was when they noticed I was about to leave, and then someone walked me to the front of the restaurant to pay.

Perhaps the restaurant needs more wait staff for the amount of guests (?)

Again, the food that I had was great, but if you are in any kind of hurry, I wouldn't recommend going here unless you have a lot of extra...

They just don‘t care and don‘t use brain at work. I ordered a lot by sora sushi in the past,the quality of the food is excellent BUT:more times they delivered wrong items,even if I wrote to them specifically NO EGG they would put the egg on the top of my food so I could not eat it! I decided to give them chance again and again but there are people working there who DON‘T CARE and they messed up my order AGAIN.The irony is that I opened my delivery box and soya sauce was(also) missing and I reported it to UBER,later I opened Shake don with EGG SURPRISE but guess what:UBER doesn‘t allow me to report the second item anymore so I will also not have my refund.the other proof they actually don‘t care is that they offer always the same copy paste answer at the bad rewiews. They will however survive even if I don‘t order by them because they are in super location at Zurich HB so they will continue to offer the NO BRAIN service.It is so frustrating to know that people working there definitely don‘t care at all(even if you pay high price...
