The worst experience we have had in Zurich. I asked one of the Thai waitresses whether the food was Kosher and she became so aggressive and almost screamed 'no no no Kosher no Halal!!' - she seemed racist (my company was wearing a scarf), loud and aggressive, so much so that people in the restuarant turned around and began to look at us. We asked if we could order some of the items with prawns instead of chicken/beef (this is normally never an issue for a Thai establishment as they serve most curries in a variety of meat anyway) and she again aggressively said “no no!”
We were embarrassed and humiliated by this insolent and unprofessional person today. She wouldnt give us a table inside and eventually let us sit saying we could only sit for an hour. At first we thought perhaps the restaurant is fully reserved but we noticed a few people came after us without a reservation and were seated without a fuss.
Anyway, whilst this lady was being aggressive, another server called Ting intervened and spoke very politely, assured us that we can replace prawns with any other meat (as their chicken/beef is not halal) and then took our order. The former insolent woman server (I believe her name is Su / Sue or Shu, I'm not sure how to spell it) just walked up and down staring at us, which was very unsettling and bizarre - we asked her for some cutlery and she didn't even respond and dumped the cutlery on the table. I gave Ting a tip for being ever so lovely (the chefs were also lovely and smiled from the kitchen area) and it is frustrating to think that it would be shared with the aggressive and unprofessional woman. I will not be visiting again despite the amazing food. I wanted to speak to a manager but nobody was available which is a shame. The restaurant should know that this server is really going to lose...
Read moreEven though the food was ok the service was catastrophic. I ordered by phone the chicken with ginger for take away and repeated 3 times the name in English along the number figured in the menu when they called me back because they didn't understand. The girl continuously ask me to confirm for the names in thailandese even though she was speaking English. When I arrived she added another meal which I didn't order on the bill which doubled of course the price of it. She didn't apologize and when I asked her for at least a discount because of the misunderstanding from their side, she didn't agree and made me pay the total. Honestly, they should be ashamed to call themselves a restaurant. Even the people from fast foods are more professional and don't try to steal...
Read moreWe were on our way to another Thai restaurant located on the same street when we saw this place. Looked at the menu and the prices and decided to eat here instead. As the photos showed, my wife ordered Pad Thai and I ordered fried Talapia in black bean sauce. Both tasted excellent and the fish was fried really crispy, just the way I liked it.
As the name implies, it's a corner shop, so the place is quite small inside for seating, but there are tables outside. However, as it was rather chilly in the evening, we decided to dine inside the restaurant. The decor was basic and simple and not as fancy as the other restaurant we didn't go, but as long as the food is this good, I don't mind. Would go...
