Because it looked nice. But after taking the picture and actually eating it, I realized... The only thing going for it was that the cabbage had a lot of water. The "sakura shrimp" felt just like regular dried shrimp. And the whole dish? Almost no seasoning. No natural sweetness from the cabbage either. Price: $220 After eating this, I lost interest in taking any more photos. Ginger fish soup also looked decent, But the entire bowl just tasted like ginger and Thai basil. Absolutely no fish flavor at all. I even picked the boneless fish slices, yet I still found a big bone while chewing. Price: $200 The rest? Not even worth commenting on. The staff seemed to be foreign workers. I asked if the white fungus soup was ready, Since at that point, I wasn’t really in the mood to eat anymore. But the staff didn’t seem to understand what I was asking. It felt like communicating with a foreigner who barely understands Chinese. Meanwhile, a Korean customer at the next table (who spoke a little Chinese) Had a question and had to wait for a male staff member from downstairs to come up. Even then, they still messed up the table numbers. We ordered: - Dan Zai noodles ×2 - Braised pork rice ×1 - Rice cake ×1 - Duck eggs ×2 - White fungus soup ×2 Total: $952, including service charge. At checkout (around 7 PM), There weren’t many customers—just me checking out and one group entering. Yet the staff didn’t even ask if I wanted an e-invoice and printed the receipt before I could stop them. When I said I wanted to use an e-invoice, They started voiding the original one right in front of me, Clearly struggling with the process. At the very least, you could reprocess my payment first before dealing with your mistake. It wasn’t my fault, yet I had to stand there and wait for you to figure it out. Super frustrating. I don’t recall it being this bad before. But after this experience? I doubt I’ll ever come back.

I like the vibe and decor they have here. The food was good, but not great. The flavor of the Dan Zai Noodles was okay but the shrimp they use have a strong chemical taste to it. Seems like it was soaked in the fluid they used to take off the shells a bit too long. I find it a bit over priced and the cp value is low. The noodle is probably 3 bite’s so it didn’t feel too satisfying paying $50 NT for a small bowl of noodle. So make sure you come with a loaded wallet if you plan on ordering different items on the menu! Dan Zai Noodle - 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑 ($50 NT and It’s literally 3 bites with a chemical tasting shrimp they use. Low cp value) Deep Fried Shrimp Roll 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 ($200 NT, it was probably my favorite dish but it’s literally just two rolls and they split it in half so there’s four piece to make it seem more so the cp value is pretty low too) Deep Fried Squid Ball 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 ($160 NT, it was good and the squid balls isn’t too small and they said it’s hand made so props to them if it is) Price & CP Value 🌕🌕🌖🌑🌑

After exploring Taipei’s historic Dadaocheng district, it’s the perfect time to sit down for a meal. I recommend Du Hsiao Yueh, one of the best spots for street-style food in the city. Their danzai noodles, ancestral braised pork with rice, and deep-fried egg tofu with dried bonito sauce truly live up to their reputation. The restaurant adds black vinegar to the noodles, giving them a unique flavor that’s both tangy and savory. I also especially enjoyed the scallion oil chicken. The service is quick and exceptionally friendly. Although prices are a bit higher, given the touristy location, the quality of the food and the presentation make it worth the cost. I didn’t get a chance to try all their recommended dishes, but I’ll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, ensuring that we felt comfortable and well taken care of. Since we wanted to eat vegetarian, the waitress went out of her way to confirm our dietary preferences and double-check our order, which we greatly appreciated. Her kindness and professionalism made our meal all the more enjoyable.

The service was impressively fast. Despite the restaurant being moderately busy, we didn’t have to wait long for our dishes to arrive. Everything was served promptly and with a smile, which contributed to the pleasant atmosphere of the evening.

The food itself was delicious. Each dish was prepared with care, using fresh and flavorful ingredients. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste was evident, making our meal a true delight.

In addition to the excellent service and food, the ambiance of the restaurant was quite enjoyable. The place was nicely decorated, clean, and well-maintained. It had a cozy yet elegant feel, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed and pleasant experience.

Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this restaurant. Whether you have specific dietary preferences or simply want to enjoy a great meal with excellent service, this place is worth a visit. Thank you very much to the team for making our evening so enjoyable—we will certainly be...

"This review has an English version below."
