Okay let’s talk about what this is and what it isn’t. Starting with what it isn’t it’s not; your average buffet where they focus on variety and quality. In Nagomi you get less choice, but each dish is excellent- the shrimps are incredibly fresh, the sashimi has that firmness and oil that you normally only get in Japan. The food is really good, but it’s a very different experience- the other thing to be honest is alcohol, include in the meal was a variety of cocktails, along with wine and Japanese plus wine. If you don’t drink alcohol then there is less value for you than if you do.
In terms of service, it was excellent, friendly patient staff and generally very fast service. You order drinks with an app (which means that everyone orders initially at the same time).
The only thing that was a bit odd was the location which confused us and many other people, you go through a decathlon store to get to it which is a bit weird. I mean that there is a counter at ground/first floor level but it feels a bit strange.
Will we go again, yes I think so. Would I recommend it, yes especially if you like to relax with a drink. Generally it was an excellent experience and I think that it was well worth the money.
Side note, two things really stood out - the fried beef and the sake, both of which were excellent.
Also I forgot to say, timing it’s really nice that they don’t push you out because they need to do the next service, they have lunch then dinner so you can relax slightly and don’t feel pressured unlike...
Read moreI’ve long been a fan of Taiwanese cuisine and have enjoyed the Taiwanese cuisine restaurants from the same group. Naturally, I was eager to try Nogomi, but sadly, I never made it past the booking stage, and that alone was enough to put me off.
Trying to make a reservation was frustrating. The system showed tables available on certain dates, but when I tried to choose a time, none were offered. Even more confusing:
No tables for 2 people, but there were some for 4. Sometimes, no tables for 4, but 8-person tables were available.
This doesn’t make sense. It’s not reasonable to expect guests to book a larger table just to get a slot. The system is not user-friendly and feels poorly designed.
To make things worse, I saw people reselling their bookings online. When reservations are so difficult that they become something to sell, it shows the system isn’t working as it should.
I live just minutes away, and I had hoped to become a regular customer. But this experience has left me disappointed. Despite being loyal to the brand, I’ve lost interest in this brand already.
Other buffets restaurants like A Joy and Inparadise offer better food, service, and a much smoother booking experience. I would recommend...
Read moreTook my girlfriend here for her birthday...poor choice of restaurant. The place itself was clean and the staff was fine, although, not much interaction involved. The sashimi was good, but that is about it. I understand that the free alcohol is the draw for this place and they need it because there is not much else adding value. The food was not great overall. A combination of low quality ingredients and poor execution. Had the price been lower, I would have accepted it. They are priced higher than most Japanese buffets that serve better quality food. As it was my girlfriends birthday, they gave her a gift of "home-made" candy (?) Unflavored, colored, jelly with sugar crystal coating. I can't even describe the disappointment I felt after 1 bite. We threw it in the bin immediately. I feel bad for anyone who paid the sticker price on the candy of 380nt. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save a few dollars and have a much better experience, at any number of other Japanese buffets...
