Enjoyed the calm, quiet ambience here & the period-style old house. This is an ideal coffee shop for doing some quiet reading or work in Taipei. Perfect amount of lighting: enough to read or work, but also just right for a romantic coffee date or dinner. It’s not touristy at all, as evidenced by the absence of English language menu. Between the nice young staffers who speak English, though, and pointing to the photos in the menu section here, you’ll get by just fine. I ordered the curry with rice & a Japanese chai latte. Both were very tasty. 4 stars because there’s no sparkling water, soda or alcohol & because having a menu with pictures or an English menu in the back somewhere would be helpful additions. But could just as well give it 5 stars, since the related positives (not touristy & very relaxed/ quiet) more than...

Nested in a quiet lane, prefect atmosphere to hangout with friends. The muted dark colour accent combined with the modern mid-century design of the interior truly fascinates how much detail that it gives. The coffee are great too, with a wide selection. The cappuccino could be done better. They also make their own cups and other pottery products, this shop shows art and crafts still have its own place in the age of "mass factory produce products" flooding the market. Hospitality wise, this shop is providing a little too much such as refilling my drinking water, or smiling a little too much, probably its common here in Taiwan nothing bad about it. From every detail in the shop, it shows the people here care a lot in what they do, from the food to the crafts and interior set-ups. In summary, it's a rare gem in...

Aesthetically pleasing cafe that was not matched by the absurd attitude from a particular staff who told us 1) to not drop the crumbs of the pain au chocolate? Seriously? Is it a common to voice such concern to your customer?? Laughable… 2) asking my kid not to use the phone as it is noisy when the other patrons were talking louder than us? For goodness sake, we were already very mindful when we stepped into the cafe but alas this staff is obviously biased and nip-picking on families with kids. I get it that you want to maintain a quiet environment for the other customers but please be fair and objective.

There are many other nicer cafes in Dihua street worth a visit but definitely not this one. The staff here is not representative of the friendly people of Taiwan....

Very cosy cafe serving high end coffee, deserts, and other food. We got the cocoa, which was very refined with a strong cocoa flavor and not a lot of sugar. The hand drip coffee is offered in several varieties, and the server took the time to explain each type to me in detail to include flavor notes in English. The menu is all Chinese, however. For desert we had flan and the "super chocolate" I believe it was called. Both were delicious and not overly sugary. Although there was a wait when we went on a Saturday late afternoon, the alleyway where the cafe is located is very peaceful and there are a couple chairs out front.
