hello ! worst experience, service, staff, atmosphere, welcome ever experienced. i don’t recommend. i came from france to taipei to visit this café as i have a passion for oddities, first of all, the welcome was very cold, both the staff didn’t have a smile on. we were then told that for 2 people only a tiny table was allowed. we are only in taipei for 1 night and spent the afternoon shopping, so we had a few bags. for the security of the oddities we wanted to place the bags somewhere where it wouldn’t accidentally bump something, scared to damage it. the person i was with then proceeded to ask if the staff could keep the bags with them which is very common in taiwan, she said no, so we asked if we could pay the amount 4 people would normally pay ( 1 drink/person) to sit at the bigger table. we asked if we could get 4 drinks and sit at the bigger table. the staff lady directly told us to go to the café beside if we didn’t like them/it. in a tone where we were rejected from both the staff the and the café. in other words, we were wanted out of their café. we were absolutely shocked and speechless. being told that made us want to explain ourselves and express our dissatisfaction. so we did. they started to disapprove and neglect our feelings, in sentences, expressions, attitude that we never heard or experienced in any country nor in taiwan which is a heartwarming and beautiful country. they saw absolutely no issue with what they said. that lead to them threatening to call the cops, and no reason was disclosed. finally, one staff told us to leave and that they don’t want us there, this time she used her words! bravo 😂 it was a horrible experience and a ugly, uncomfortable atmosphere caused by the staff the second we stepped in this café. i took a quick glance at the oddities which seemed good and pretty. but with this 10 minute experience, i will not only never go there again but warn all my foreigner friends about this horrendous place in taipei and not introduce oddities, this café to my friends in taiwan. this ruined our last evening here in taipei. it’s such a shame and disappointment that the beautiful species are put in a such negative atmosphere.
i don’t...
Read moreOkay, taxidermy is a bit controversial and I'm not sure how I feel about it as a whole. But this place uses and displays it tastefully in a package that doesn't glorify, but instead integrates it into a vibe that really suits the location. The interior is aesthetically and atmospherically intriguing and the eclectic collection of decor, furniture, and other wares brings it all together.
They have small food plates, cocktails, tea, coffee, and desserts and are open late which is a huge plus. Probably one of the most unique such bar-cafes...
Read moreWhile the coffee shop had a cozy ambiance and friendly staff, my overall experience left much to be desired. The coffee itself was mediocre, lacking the bold flavors I typically expect. Moreover, the menu options were limited, and the pastries tasted stale. The prices were higher than other cafes with better quality offerings. I appreciate the effort put into creating a comfortable atmosphere, but the coffee and food quality need improvement to match the competition...
