Luguo Cafe — Restaurant in Datong District

High ego staff, pricey, good ambience in a traditional house with relaxing music. Would NOT come back.

About the staff -- one of them was high ego & unwelcoming. As soon as she found you don't know much about coffee, and your weren't sending more, she lost her patience and her response made me felt I was stupid.

Price - TWD 180 for a hot latte, one of the cheapest options, which is pretty pricey in Taiwan standard. The quality was alright, nothing outstanding. You pay for this to enjoy the relaxing and historical ambience.

For me, I would NOT come back. There are many good cafes nearby / in the whole Taipei, with good coffee, good ambience, and lovely...

Arrogant unreasonable boss that dictates absolutely No One is allowed to have any milk or sugar with their 'specialty' coffee. The staff refused to let us even pay for the milk as it is the boss's rule. Customers who want milk in their coffee can only choose latte. Clearly, the boss thinks he know better and that his customers' needs mean nothing to him. Only those who don't know how they like their own coffee should come here. A quiet cafe perched at the second floor of a renovated historic building in the center of busy Di Hua Street. The decorations and the furnitures show an antique atmosphere as whole. The music is comforting and not too annoying. We ordered hot cafe latte. The flavor is nice. They don’t provide sugar or cream for coffee. One of us ordered private label beer, which is a little bit too sweet though.
