SHANN RICE BAR — Restaurant in Hsinchu

Located in a huge mall called Big City, that was already a plus point. Restaurant wasn’t big but spacious and clean, comfortable seating and well decorated. Service staff were very attentive. We were seated very promptly.

Menu was very clear with pictures for easy order, it was extensive. Dishes served were true to pictures. Nothing was mediocre here. Our tastebuds were spoilt! Started with the different type of rice, o loved it! Besides the main dishes were yummilicious, the dessert left me dying for more. The yam paste wasn’t oily and the mixed beans dessert was not overly sweet. They concluded the wellness of the entire cuisine!

This restaurant’s staff (like a lady supervisor), she was very efficient and polite. So far, amidst all my dining experience in Taiwan during this trip, she topped the service excellence list. Good job!

Oh, the gallant effort by the staff to attend to my every whim—it was almost endearing. The rice? A noble attempt at grandeur, with flavors that courted my taste buds like a commoner's ballad—pleasant, if a bit predictable. The ambiance, with its charmingly humble décor, aimed for quaint and landed somewhere near "acceptable."

For the average palate, this place is likely a revelation. For me, a connoisseur of life’s rarest indulgences, it was a polite reminder that even ordinariness has its place.

第一次來吃時時香，想吃很久了，每次經過時都可以從店門口聞到飄出來的香味，這次是和高中朋友們五人一齊前來聚餐，當作是久違的同學會

先說覺得好的地方：

服務態度： 店員態度親切，服務快速（雖然我們的第一桶飯等了超久，上兩道菜後過了五分鐘飯才上，而那兩道菜又是一定要飯才能配的菜色），但後面的飯都上的非常迅速，還可以換米飯口味

米飯與菜色： 部分菜色味道真的還不錯，米飯也煮的非常Q彈，個人非常推薦紅燒肉還有獅子頭這兩道菜，調味非常的棒，讓人飯一口接著一口，一滴醬我都沒有剩

再來說個人覺得的缺點（主觀評價，可能每人用餐時感受都不同）：

實物與照片的差異： 我覺得菜單照片拍起來的份量比實物大太多了，尤其是麻婆豆腐、還有炒牛肉，三杯雞這三道，照片看起來是一大盤，夠4.5人分的感覺，實際上來的份量我覺得只比7-11、全家的麻婆豆腐多一點，只有一個小小盤子的份量，讓人感到失望，紅燒肉就更誇張了，來了一大盅，第一口味道令人驚艷，想說挖到寶了，這麼大盅的美味紅燒肉定夠幾個大男生扒好幾碗白飯，結果並沒有，它只是一個小盤子放在一個架起來的瓷器上，紅燒肉的味道瞬間被詐欺的味道蓋了過去，一份裡面只有7小塊紅燒肉還有兩顆被切開的滷蛋😃

味道與價位：麻婆豆腐的調味我覺得太淡了一點，吃起來會有種湯湯水水的感覺，有點失望，超商的還比較好吃，但是這裏要賣285+10%，完全不知道為什麼可以稱得上時時香前十的料理，還有那個三杯雞，雞肉會不會也太省？最近又沒有禽流感，整盤都是薑片，要吃雞肉還要像在鑿礦一樣挖啊挖啊哇，好不容易挖到一塊長得像雞肉的東西，一口咬下，臥槽，是蒜頭！
