HoYa Rice — Restaurant in Jiaoxi Township

Recommended from a series’s of “1001 Stories of Taiwan” on YouTube, so we came to try out this little Taiwanese restaurant. It tugs Away from the main Blvd. of Jiaousi Town. Since I wasn’t equipped with Wi-Fi, it took me a while searching around and back and forth. But I did locate it without taking too long. We ordered its billboard dish - stringed duck rice bowls (but there’re just a few bits of duck meat in the bowl), and extra plate of duck (to compensate bits of duck in the rice bowl), dried veggies egg, and duck blood soup (it’s not bad actually) and stir-fried tomatoes with thousand-year Egg. Except the last dish tasted a bit strangely sour (probably due to the mix of vinegar, it didn’t taste as good as recommended. Other dishes were okay. Compared to its price, I would say they don’t serve the best food they should have served. Most surprisingly that the stewed egg they boast is from factory that you can tell from its shade which could go only with packed ones. The taste is all good but the price is just too high. Come if you don’t mind price that much or otherwise you could go on the street for those street food which is...

The duck rice was good and the DHA sunny side egg is a 'must order' for me. The duck blood soup was just ok and the chili century egg was good too. Overall, this a pretty decent place...
