J'Tik Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Taichung

*edited on Sep 2025 I have come to this place more than 30 times in the past 4-5 years and it was one of my most fav place for comfort foods. Sadly, today marks my last time visiting. The foods are still fine but the customer service I received was a negative point to me. I normally order more than 2 dishes whenever I come even I often come by myself. But as I can't finish all in one go, I often bring my boxes to take the foods left over home. As an environmental activist, I tried to not use plastic bags as much as I can and I would opt for the recyclable materials. Today, I ordered 3 dishes and I had half of them unfinished. Since I didn't bring any boxes from home with me this time, and I also didn't have a handbag with me. I asked the female staff for a paper box (just a normal and typical paper lunch box). She said she couldn't. I even offered buying the box and she said she cant put a price on it. I ended up carry the food bags like a homeless around the town and not mentioning my two hands are full with foods bag, a tea bottle, a bus card and a phone. If my loyalty for the past 4-5 years and the average payment I made each time more than 500 ntd is worth less than a paper lunch box then fine. Goodbye! There're plenty of better fishes outthere.

Must be the Thai restaurant with most friendly menu in Taichung or even in Taiwan!!! They have menu in Chinese, Thai, English and Vietnamese!!! This is one of the reasons I prefer this place than other Thai places. Their foods always taste flavorful and the price is very affordable! Authentic and affordable is something...

Authentic Thai Food!

The green curry tasted just like what I had when I was in Thailand. Their spices and flavor are so unique that only authentic Thai restaurants can make that. For $230 a dish, the portion was so big that I couldn't finish it by myself. Steam rice was a bit pricey imo as it's just rice. The milk tea makes you feel like you were in Thailand.

This place is inside the ASEAN mall, and not outside on the perimeter where you would also find various types of restaurants. So go inside and find the escalator to go up to the 3F. Then walk around once and you will find it.

The whole mall is packed with shops and restaurants from different southeast counties, namely, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Philippines, Malaysia. You feel like you are actually somewhere in one of these countries as most customers and mall go-ers are from south east Asia.
