台南傳奇酒吧 Legends Tainan — Restaurant in Tainan

IG: foodie_foxx Pre Halloween celebration, Friday night, the day when I was not emotionally well, these guys made me bounce back to my normal life after that wonderful hospitality and experience ❤, they had 2 Dj's one Taiwanese and one afro guy. Both were super awesome, but mostly I was starting down, because I was all alone 😔 and feeling like I was lost somewhere haha. They has cover charges that day 200$NTD, 100 FOR ENTRY and 100 coupon for drinks.

Started of with Shots (tequila) did not get salt and lemon, I guess the bartender forgot, lol 😅, then around the world cocktail and then another tequila, then continued with 3 beers. I almost spent 1500 $ntd that night, I think which was worth enough. I feel the cocktails should be more strong, according to me it was light.

I was a frequent visitor there when they were near the train station, but this is my first time to be here. Prime location, no parking available, they have a number of tables inside and outside. There are 2 floors in total and both the floors have bar as well as dance floor. The old bar in tainan which has dance floor, which made the night really exciting and wonderful 😀. Thank you guys will visit again

This review is long overdue. My girlfriend and I were down in Tainan for a weekend trip over the Super Bowl weekend in Feb 2021. As big football fans, we tried to find a bar that opens early for the Super Bowl party (7am in the morning due to time difference.) Legends was the only bar opened, and it was also having a $500 breakfast buffet. My girlfriend and I was on a foodie tour in Tainan, so we didn't feel like getting full on our first stop at Legends. When I offered the owner (Chris? I think...) to at least pay for the coffees, he politely declined. I understand it was probably negligible cost to him, but the gesture really stood out to me. Chris was kind enough to offer us seats to watch the Super Bowl, free of charge. (I guess southern hospitality also lives in Taiwan!) There are lots of hip, trendy bars in Tainan. However, as far as I know, Legends is the only true Western bar in Tainan. Great for expats to chill and hang out if you're looking for a familiar vibe. People are also nice and down to Earth. Worth a visit if you want a difference...

tl;dr: Great Tacos on Taco Tuesday for 50 kuai. However, the rest of their menu items and drinks are a bit pricey for what they are, tasty though they may be.

I think ratings for this place skew high because there are so few bars in Tainan, so standards are a bit lower. The drink selection is rather small, the food is decent but can be a little pricey, and besides the 50kuai tacos on Tuesday nights, they don't have anything that is the "best" in Tainan. The service is hit or miss; we've been before where it's pretty attentive, but every other time we've been, it's been like pulling teeth just to get someone to come take an order. If there are people smoking at the bar, the places gets to smelling like smoke in a hurry. (I know, it's Asia and smoking is just part of life here, but it still ruins an otherwise pleasant environment for me.) Overall, I'd say "it's ok," and one of the better foreigner haunts now that...
