大橋頭筒仔米糕 重慶店 — Restaurant in Taipei

While the food was bearable and tbh I’ve had better 米糕s, however the service left me a little disgusted. My friend and I had just done our hike at Mt.Guanyin and we were looking forward to this savoury dish loved by all Taiwanese people. Upon entering the eatery, nobody directed us to take a seat.. we were carrying hiking backpacks btw. We were looking for menus but didn’t see any on the table so my friend asked politely if we were to order at the register. The cashier that day, a girl a little on the chubby end like me in a red baseball cap replied, “DUH.” I’ve noticed she only spoke like that towards us and not the other customers. I suggest better customer service training. I know it’s not a 5-star restaurant but a friendly hello would be nice perhaps?

The food was satisfactory but the attitude killed all the deliciousness in the food we had.

We dined in on 2024/07/30. Tuesday around 16:00 to 17:00.

I’m writing this not to shame her or urge others to not go to this place cause they do serve some okay food. And some of you reading this might be thinking, “Go to other places then!” Yeah, I can always go to other places, but I’d like to put my money where it’s worth it. I had 2 pieces of Lean meat tube rice pudding which only cost $80. The rice was the tastiest and had sticky and amazing texture. The lean pork was also nicely cooked. Besides, the eggs were fairly delicious, especially the yolks. To sum up, it’s a Taiwanese traditional dish that foreign visitors should try out. Overall, it’s a 10 out of 10...

Absolutely delicious, if oyster & pig liver is your thing (it should be) then you must try their soup as it's perfect for cold and wet winter days. Pork belly sticky rice is a must have as well. It's no frills no fancy decor just extremely delicious traditional flavors on everything they make....
