1975 Antique’s Cafe Tea Room — Restaurant in Taipei

Overall the experience was good but there are some aspects I really didn't like.

So basically you have to order for at least 150ntd per person. No problem with that. We were 2 and we initially ordered two medium flat whites and 1 original waffle for a total of 440ntd which is more than 150ntd/person. But the staff told me that the waffle counts for only one person. Since the flat white costs 140ntd, I was asked to spend more so that each person spent more than 150ntd. I don't get it but maybe I am not used to this. The service was very very slow. The staff was not busy but it took more than 10 minutes for the flat whites. And it didn't taste like one. I wasn't in the rush so I don't mind that much. The waffles were a little bit undercooked.

again much like the reviews below. If your paying this kind of price for tea I would expect to get served more than just Twinnings bags a more luxurious loose leaf tea would fit the price tag. Also much like other negative reviews I don’t get the pricing structure at all. They ask you to pay 180 per person. Which would be fine, 2 of us therefore ordered a pot of tea to share and two scones they wouldn’t allow us to do that because the tea is for one. What’s the point of even putting the 180 rule on the menu if you’re just going to charge more at the checkout. This coffee shop is a short walk from Hsinbeitou mrt station. Inside is a cozy, British inspired decor. Service was friendly and attentive. There’s a minimum charge of $180 per person. So it might seem restrictive to some who, like me, just want to have a cup of coffee. Since my drink Piccolo is priced $140 I have to order a scone which is quite good. Their scone was served with their homemade cream cheese and your choice of jam.
