A very disappointing experience overall.
Appetiser: We had the escargots but the parsley sauce is nearly tasteless. For soup, I tried both the french onion soup and the crab and corn chowder. The french onion soup was too watery and sweet which tasted more like an onion sugary boiled water. The corn soup was okay if you like creamy style corn soup- but also a very sweet soup to start with.
Main: We picked the Premium Kuroge Wagyu A5 as main course. The chef did ask and recommend it to be prepared medium. However, the cooking process is a bit confusing. The chef cooked our steak and left it on tray for 15+ minutes- and during that 15 minutes he prepared pork, lobster, and lamb for other clients first- and then he put the steak back on the same teppan again and cooked it the second time. I have never had teppanyaki like this that my steak has to rest for 15 minutes to be re-cooked instead of serving to me fresh after an appropriate resting time for it to be cut. The steak was not cooked medium but medium well instead too.
The fried rice was definitely below average as the rice is wet when served. The pineapple bun with sirloin is a strange dish since the pickle(?) rolled inside the sirloin is way too spicy and the flavours of everything- scrambled eggs, under-seasoned beef and sweet bun just do not mix well with each other.
Professionalism: We did not enjoy the meal fully. The chef seemed unprofessional as we can see that sometimes his hands were actually shaking when he was cooking. Apart from the cooking, when we asked to get the bill, we have waited up to 10 minutes since the ‘manager’ was on a call. Despite most staff are polite and friendly, this is not a satisfactory service and food quality when you charge 3000ish TWD per...

I've known "Ben Teppan Supreme" for quite a few years.
Teppanyaki, a double delight for the eyes and taste buds. Today, under the pretext of celebrating, I visited "Ben Teppan Supreme."
The overall sense of ceremony and post-meal satisfaction was good. Here are some points about the experience, highlighting the pros and mentioning a few minor cons:
Pros: -Reservations can be made online, and you receive a confirmation text before the visit. -Located in Breeze Xinyi, allowing time for shopping afterward.
Cons: Limited dessert options, falling below expected standards for the price range. -Upgraded premium ingredients didn't significantly enhance the taste experience.
After all is said and done, this visit to "Ben Teppan Supreme" left me quite satisfied. I hope for an even better experience next time. Teppanyaki places a strong emphasis on the chef's on-the-spot performance, and I'm grateful for the cooking skills demonstrated by the two chefs today.
It made for an important and satisfying rendezvous, leaving my companions highly pleased.
The full-course menu at Ben Teppan Supreme is diverse, with prices varying based on the chosen main course.
"Ben Supreme" in Xinyi offers a great environment, excellent service, and honest, quality ingredients.

Read moreNot as terrible as some have said, but not that great either, especially for the price. Hunghua is definitely much better. The main cooking/eating area is cramped and claustrophobic. It's quite small, closed in, and does not allow much social distancing. I didn't really like the escargot appetizer, and the other choice, an egg dish, was just not appealing to me, and my wife called it strange. Corn soup was uninspiring. The fish entree was in an onion broth, and not so tasty to me. They did not have the ribeye steak that was on the menu, which we wanted, so we ended up ordering the much more expensive Wagyu steak. The Wagyu steak was quite good, but not the best. Strange that we were not asked how we wanted our steaks cooked. A first for us at any teppanyaki restaurant. I would have preferred slightly more well done. Fried rice was dry and had way too much onion. To make a reservation, we had to give a credit card number, and one day before, we got a message saying that if we cancelled, they would charge us 1,000NT per person. We thought this was really strange, and never experienced this before, even with much more expensive/higher end restaurants. A credit card to make a...
