Diamond Tony's Italian Restaurant 101 — Restaurant in Xinyi District

Overall the restaurant has a nice view, but you can see this from other floors as well. The taste of the food overall were nothing spectacular. For the price of the meal it did not justify the taste and it definitely did not justify the service we got.

From how the restaurant presented itself on its interior and menu it looked like it was meant to be fine dining. I understand lunch time does tend to be more casual fine dining which I accept, but the service here from our original server was terrible. We even dined here when it was just opened for lunch at 11:30, and there were less than 7 parties in the whole restaurant. I come from being a server and bartender for many years at restaurants myself and none have seemed as fine dining as this place, and our service expectations from my training were far beyond how this one was. He didn’t greet his name, welcome us, explain the menu when we had questions. Even a simple question about the two water options he gave us attitude and did not want to give us answers. He took our orders down with attitude as well, never repeating our orders to clarify that it was correct. He did not list seat numbers as our dishes kept coming out confused as to who ordered what, making the food runner’s jobs much harder and lose that finer touch of service. He asked if we had any allergies and we mentioned by egg allergy. My salad came with mayonnaise which is made from eggs. I did not want to interact with the server more than necessary so I brushed a big portion of my salad to the side of my plate to avoid eating it. They brought our next dish out and we had crumbs on our table due to the bread their served prior, and that was not cleared. Our soups were placed on top or the bread crumbs even asked we asked if they could please clear it for us. They never offered fresh ground black pepper for salads or soup. They never checked to see if our food tasted good. Our food was also not coming out together at similar times as well. Our main dishes came out at such different times we each finished our meals at all different times. With having prefixed menus to pick from I thought they would be able to focus on finer touches of service, but clearly not here. The food runners we interacted with were more pleasant. I get much better service at casual dining than this place. Would not be returning or suggesting this...

Seriously, it's my first time to write a comment on any experience. However, the services were really terrible last night. Last night was Christmas Eve, I went with my mum. It's our first time to there. Not only mentioned that there wasn't any assigned waitress to our table. There were at least 5-6 waitress we have talked with. I dont know how their system works exactly... I saw a staff even walked through behind chairs and next table! (although at the time there's no one sitting there, but it would be ridiculous to me if they dont care about what other guests might think at the moment...) Unfortunately, one of the waitress slipped my soup out of the bowl... without even saying SORRY. I mean, we all made mistakes... it's normal. But saying sorry it's an important manners and requirements for all of us...

And about the food last night... just disappointed. Their soup was totally out of the standard. Appetizers and Salads sucks... Entree was okay. The main courses.. only the steaks was 7 of out 10. Another dish we had was Italian Calzone.... it was definitely the most horrible dishes I could imagine to exist at their restaurant!!!

Before last night, I thought about going there again in February on Chinese New Year eve. But after last night...I definitely refuse to...

Not worthy for the price. Food was average, view was fine. If you expect the service would equal to their price, then don't come here. The waitress was rude. When we asked for more bread, her response was very disrespectful. She didn't even bother to look at us. We asked her few questions when she was around, she didn't even stop what she was doing and wasn't willing to answer our questions. When we started order our meal, the attitude waiter gave us was like " I know you won't order anything expensive!!" and we asked for wine menu, he was like " what we have only if you order a bottle." I don't think he would provide this kind of service to foreigner or whoever looks fancier. We called the store after the dinner coz we feel pretty unsatisfied with their service. The manager on duty tried to argue with us over the phone. and tried to make excuse for his employee with their bad service. It was a pretty bad experience and I would never go back again and won't recommend this restaurant to any of my...
