Dec 2022 Located on floor 89 in Taipei 101, this place does actual special coffee (which takes time to make) and has very delicious cakes. For non-Chinese speaking visitors, rest assured the staff do speak (accented) English.
The place usually has a long line and has its own small dining area. The dining area is dimly lit and the tables each have their own small light. Note there are only about 6 small tables, and people like to linger. There is an alcove to the side, by the counter, to throw away trash and leave used dishes.
An important thing to note is the coupons the ticket people give you when you purchase your observatory ticket. One coupon is specifically for KafeD, where you can get some amount off (I forgot the specific $ amount) if you buy 1 specialty coffee AND 1 cake. The specialty coffees are the coffees on the first page, helpfully labeled "Specialty Coffee"; any other drink does not count for the coupon. For non-coffee drinkers who still want to use a coupon, you can use the $ (again, forgot the specific amount) off any purchase over NT$500 coupon.

I would definitely come back for the cakes, and I may try some of their non-caffeine drinks. Though I will go to their non-Taipei 101...

I appreciate the owner’s replies and read through some bad comments for this highly rated place, mostly from customers with a Chinese mainland last names, which proves my guess that the guy and the woman (also rude that day) have some kind of dislike and discrimination against people from the other side of the strait. I felt funny and entertained sitting there drinking my coffee overhearing the guy serving attitude changed from the worst for me and the best to the other two groups of white customers. The first group didn’t even speak good English, apparently from Europe or somewhere. I laughed and, at that moment, I made a big decision that I will speak English in the rest of my trip in Taiwan. Mandarin is no longer my favorite...

The espresso is rich and smooth, and the matcha latte is a standout for those who enjoy a creamy, slightly sweet flavor.
The pastries are fresh and complement the drinks perfectly, with options like croissants, cakes, and muffins. The café also offers a great place to unwind and enjoy the view of Taipei 101, making it a perfect stop after visiting the observatory.
Service is friendly and attentive, and the interior is modern yet comfortable. If you’re looking for a spot to relax with a good cup of coffee while enjoying the view, this is definitely the...
