Let me start off by saying that I do not recommend this cafe for the vast majority of people. It’s “okay” if you absolutely need a dead silent place to concentrate, but at that point, why not just go to the library? The main reason I cannot recommend this cafe is due to the sour attitude of the owner and how he treats customers.
The owner is overly stern and does not give a welcome (let alone a hello) to people coming in. He acts as if he doesn’t want you there and his overall attitude is negative and gloomy. If you make some noise accidentally, he looks over at you as if you’ve committed a crime. The atmosphere here makes you feel pressured to not make a single noise, rather than to relax and feel calm, the exact opposite of what I would want to experience in a pricy cafe.
To add on to the already terrible impression he made on us, my partner who joined me in the cafe had to use the bathroom. She was in there for around 4 to 5 minutes and for some reason the owner kept looking over to her empty seat (next to mine) with a look of annoyance. What’s with that? Is there a time limit for the bathroom?
Price is on the higher side as well (200+ for a coffee). The only pros I’d put is that yes, it is very quiet, but the attitude and demeanor of the owner kills it for me. Simply put, I’d recommend another cafe elsewhere for a warmer, nicer atmosphere from another owner and shop.
You can maintain and uphold a quiet atmosphere for your cafe without acting in such a rude way to...
Read moreIt was a terrible experience 가지마세요.. 绝对不要去! We were not greeted with a smile or the regular “huan yin guan lin”. The owner of the place is not friendly at all, in fact he felt hostile, like he didn’t want us to be there.
When asked whether the coffee was fruity so we could make a choice, he just said that he’d pick it for us. What kind of service is that?!
There was a couple seated beside us and they were talking normally and so were we. But us, we got asked, not nicely, to be quiet. What the hell? Why only us?
Place is overpriced. Cheesecake was tiny had no crust. Coffees were ordinary. All that for NT$550? It’s not even the price that bothered me. It was this man’s attitude. It was our last day in Taiwan and he ruined all the good impressions we had of this lovely people.
Do yourself a favour, give this...
Read moreThis place makes my day every time I visit. The coffee and tea selection were obsessively prepared. From the delightful cheesecake to that moist mousse-like chocolate cake, I fall for them over and over again.
Decor and ambience were welcoming and perfect for both a quick cup or a focused laptop session. Plenty of power outlets - a big plus. Big window lets in lots of natural light.
Barista/owner wants to create a sacred ground where one could sip their brews free from distraction or simply enjoy the quality time. His approach to coffee-drinking experience thus extends to a short list of unwritten rules, including a ban on LOUD mobile phone ringtones, LOUD phone calls, or even LOUD conversation. Personally I find these...
