Tsujihan is a Kaisen-don (a bowl of rice topped with variety of fresh sashimi) specialty restaurant 🍚🍣
We ordered the Zeitaku Bowl Set Meal ( Take Course ɴᴛ. 799 )
This set meal includes:
Appetizer - Seasonal Fresh Sashimi with Sesame Paste Soup over Rice - Japanese Red Snapper Broth over Rice Dessert - Uji Matcha Pudding with Kintoki Adzuki Beans
As soon as we sat, the chef offered us small plate of fresh sashimi. They had four pieces of sashimi with sesame sauce. Super fresh and just melt in your mouth 😭✨ BUT, you MUST stop yourself from eating them all. Half of these were meant to save for the later part of the meal.
Take Course contains Crab Meat, Trout Roe, Argentinian Red Shrimp, Herring Roe, Squid, Tuna, Chopped Tuna, and Conch Meat.
They are all cut up into small pieces and mixed together, making it easy to eat. They have a special soy sauce for the donburi. Mix it with wasabi and pour it over the donburi.
The first bite was heavenly, especially for true seafood lovers! It was soooo good, super fresh, not fishy but refreshing and packed with flavor. Cucumber added extra texture of crunchy goodness against other ingredients that are soft and velvety. It was totally the jewel box of the ocean!
If you enjoy having ginger as accompaniment to sashimi, they do have an awesome ginger there. It was very refreshing!
The sea bream broth was rich with seafood flavour, enhanced by the yuzu. This hearty broth would have been warming on a cool day.
It was a pricey lunch, but I say it was totally worth the price! It was soooo good, the quality was amazing, and the portion we received overall was great too! 🥰

When entering the restaurant, you smell a pleasant aroma from the kitchen, inviting you to savor the delicious dishes cooking to perfection. As you settle into your seat, you take in the restaurant's charming and aesthetic ambiance. In this restaurant's course meal, I begin with Hirame (sea bream), a dish that glides smoothly over the palate, leaving an impression. What truly shocks me is how fresh the wasabi is. Unlike the wasabi you find at your local restaurant, this is genuine, freshly grated wasabi. If you're on a budget, it's recommended to try the Kaisendon sashimi rice bowl, priced at just 539 NTD. It's important not to finish the Kaisendon right away. If you'd like to finish it, ask the waiter to pour soup into the bowl for the perfect ending. This has a 'perfect ending' vibe when finishing it, as the soup mixes perfectly with the remaining parts from the bowl.
Finally, the dessert arrives: Matcha Tiramisu. It might seem unusual at first, but the moment you take a bite, it feels like a taste of heaven. Its smooth, rich texture goes to all your senses, making it the perfect ending...
Read moreLoving the experience in Japan, we had to try the Kaisendons in Taiwan and see if the taste is same. Stepping into the restaurant, it somewhat felt more fine dining than the original branches in Tokyo. A plus point is the availability of baby chairs and reservation possibilities along with zero waiting times! The prices are comparable and just a tad higher than in Japan, but a matcha pudding with red bean paste (delicious!) is also included. We were also trying a different bowls that are not available in Japan, the limited edition bowl with a enormous amount of uni was new and refreshing while the dashi broth did somewhat lack the sweet and freshness kick we were familiar with. In total, a very recommendable experience especially when you crave the well-known Tsujihan Kaisedon‘s outside of Japan or want to try it without the long...
