The sukiyaki had good quality and the restaurant setting was nice. However, we were shocked by the service and very disappointed. We came in 5 people for lunch on July 31, 2023 , and did not realize my son was allergic to the sukiyaki sauce as it contained fish until we sat down, we discussed the options we had with the manager on duty: we could order a dish from the restaurant bar, so my son could have his own dish and sit with us by the table. we could get some food outside the restaurant and had him eat his own food with us by the table. Since there's no alternative sukiyaki sauce without fish, we would order and pay a shabu-shabu pot with plain water+soy sauce as the soup base for him by a table with 2 stove heads so we could still eat together.
The answer from the manager was basically plain and rude : for option 1 and 2 : NO, as no people could sit by sukiyaki table having food which was not from sukiyaki meal. for option 3: They would charge us two people's meal just for my son's shabu-shabu, as the policy did not allow opening a table with a single customer. even if we agreed to pay double, there was no available table with two stove heads at the moment and we had to wait and no waiting time was provided.
End of Story: My son had to sit by the table without eating anything until we finished our meal.
We live in US and visit our family members in Taiwan almost every summer, and we have never encountered this level of service without any willingness to accommodate the special needs for the customer. in US, in Mexico, in Canada and even in Japan, and in any type of the restaurants we have ever visited, as long as we requested the concerns, there were always some adjustments for the food we ordered. Regent is a top hotel in Taiwan, what had happened to us was just...
Read moreThis neighbourhood and hotel is known for it's popularity among Japanese expats & travellers; Obviously it's Japanese restaurant has it's quality to satisfy these oversea Japanese in Taiwan. Neatly decorated with Japanese style, you can have your choices of Shabu Shabu/suki yaki, or Japanese sushi set here Also, you might be quite surprised to see, with such highly priced place, it's still very popular for both local foodies. Reservation is highly recommended. Certainly the food quality is there, I found it a bit expensive myself, but it worth the price, not to mention the service is also quite great & friendly. Although the restaurant puts it's efforts for ventilation, still it's underground, and when you are dining sukiyaki, the Japanese fried pan pot, the smell might be a little staining. Overall I think it's still a...
Read moreA high class sukiyaki restaurant. I think that there are two recommendations of the restaurant.
Firstly, they provide a variety of beef and pork slices. The beef is imported from America and Australia. The oil flower full of the meat slices melt in my mouth.
In addition, the vibes of the restaurant are understated luxury style. The seat is a box style that customers own their privacy during the night.
With high quality of food and services, the price is higher than other sukiyaki restaurant. Therefore you need to buy some coupons on the Internet such as Gomaji...etc before you have your meal. It will save you a lot money and make it a...
