azie — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

2024.06 Been to Azie several times since. I must say this is the most suitable spot to treat your friends and relatives visiting Taiwan from overseas. There is a wide selection of western and eastern cusines on the menu to fit pretty much any individual's taste buds.

Only a handful of spots serve quality lasagna in Taipei and Azie happens to be one of them. Layered with rich beefy sauce, creamy parmesan and topped with stringy mozzarella, yum yum! Just hoped that the noodles could be a bit firmer (al dente)!

The Bayonne Ham and Arugula pizza was also very unique and delicious. Pizza crust has the proper floury aroma and chewy texture.

Praise also went to the Hokkaido King Crab & Tomato Risotto and Oxtail & Spinach Risotto.

Everyone was pleased that day! Kudos to the Azie staff!

2020.02 Tried the Hungarian beef goulash and truffle risotto from the 30th anniversary takeout menu. Both items came with complimentary soup and they all tasted descent with only one minor drawback, the beef was not as tender as expected. Good bargains...

Went here specifically to check out their "award winning" beef noodle soup ... Came out with a big check and scratching my head about what all the hype was about.

The setting is very nice, though the electronic music was a notch too loud (reminded me of the W hotel lobby for those of you that have visited one). Staff was quite friendly and helpful. We were there with kids and there seemed to be several families there too.

Food was ok. Nothing to rave about. The beef noodle soup was quite bland and the meat had a lot of fat in it (I know this is common for beef noodle soup but in this case it was the softer type which I personally don't care for). I guess some time has passed since they received their award in 2015!?!

By the time we were leaving (about 2pm) there was a massive line for their buffet ... Made me wish I'd try...

On the first level of The Regent Taipei, the Azie Grand Cafe is located adjacent to the popular Brasserie (grand buffet) of the hotel. Excellent place for Lady M cake, original flavor only. Get a cup of coffee or tea and a slice of that yummy cake for only NT$450 in comfort and beautiful surroundings. The set includes choice of coffees and teas from their drinks menu (photo attached below).

The Lady M store on the same level only serves take out. We came at 2:20pm of a working day and despite the very long line waiting to enter the Brasserie for the afternoon tea buffet, the Azie Grand Cafe was quiet and had space for walk in guests.
