Rice Noodles with Salted Egg ($128): These were the chewiest and most flexible noodles I had ever tried. I would definitely just be back eating that again in the future mainly for its outstanding texture. Moreover, its taste was also very good and savoury. I enjoyed the roe stirred with the superb noodles.

Ground Tea Mochi Pancake ($88): It tasted quite sweet and glutinous inside. On the other hand, the outer layers were of a fragrant and crispy texture. This dessert is really the one you must try out.

Hakka Style Muscovado Mochi ($98): It was quite sticky and gluey and the muscovado syrup was relatively sweet and thick. In addition, they also gave you a Mortar and pestle to grind the sesames, peanut powders, and nuts for the mochis to be dipped. As a consequence, the texture went even better than original.

Hakka Orange Tea (660ml) ($48): It was filled in a to-go cup and tasted extraordinary and sweet to an extent, which had a similar flavour to honey tea but less sugary.

To sum up, I’d waited for 15 minutes even though I was standing in the head of the queue. The number of people behind me got a lot more during this quarter, which was insane and it was around 19:30. Nevertheless, it was worth waiting due to the unusual and delicious delicacies. The prices are quite reasonable and the service attitude was great. Furthermore, Taiwanese people with Hakka ancestry are common but only few of them actually know authentic Hakka dishes and how to cook them. The distance from MRT station (Zhongshan exit 3) wasn’t long, which was only about 100 metres (328 feet). Overall, it’s absolutely a 10 out of 10!

FYI, you send the QR code to order (the internet is kinda poor so it might take longer to process) and 10% service charge is included...

It’s very very stuffy and hot inside. The restaurant is at B1 and there’s not much air ventilation. The place is crowded and the seats are closely spaced, so it’s noisy. Definitely not a place to go for good conversations.

We waited 30 minutes to get seated, and another 30 or more minutes for the food to arrive. They have a robot delivery machine for the food, but the robot plays a song that adds to the noise in the restaurant. They also seem to be short on waiters, so the place seems a bit hectic and their service is slow.

The food is alright, some are very yummy like their salted egg pumpkin tofu. The others are alright. Their dessert was alright too.

Kuchnia rdzennej tajwańskiej ludności Hakka, czyli dla niewtajemniczonych po prostu autentyczne tajwańskie jedzenie. Coś czego koniecznie trzeba i warto spróbować będąc na Tajwanie, tym bardziej, że serwowane tu jedzonko jest po prostu przepyszne!

Spróbowałem raz i od tamtej pory często tu wracam. Zjadłem już większość rzeczy z karty dań: zupy, makarony, pierożki, naleśniki, desery...

Co jest niezwykłego? Smak! Trudno o takie dania w innych miejscach, a już absolutnie nie do znalezienia są one w takiej jakości smaku jak tutaj. Naleśniki są chrupiące! Zupy mają aksamitny wręcz smak, zwłaszcza moja ulubiona: dyniowa z kałamarnicą. Pierożki są pikantne, a nie ostro palące, miękkie i delikatne. No i desery... istna wisienka na torcie! Kokosowy deser z kawałkami taro jest moim numerem 1. Uwielbiam taro w każdej postaci, ale w tej serwowanej tutaj szczególnie! Mochi z różnego rodzaju orzeszkami to także rewelacja, coś niespotykanego i wspaniałego zarówno w formie podania jak i w smaku. Aż nie sposób przyjść tu tylko raz. BARDZO POLECAM!

O samym lokalu warto wspomnieć, że bywają do niego kolejki, zwłaszcza wieczorami. Zamówienie możemy złożyć poprzez dedykowaną aplikację, a wszystko opisane jest po angielsku z ładnymi zdjęciami. Co więcej korzystając z aplikacji gromadzimy punkty, za które później można kupić serwowane tutaj dania. A dla chcących zabrać kawałek smaków Hakka ze sobą, przy kasie do kupienia są różnego rodzaju sosy w butelkach. Do tego wszystkiego trzeba jeszcze dodać, że ceny są bardzo przystępne co dodatkowo zachęca do odwiedzin niniejszej restauracji.

No i na koniec coś co mnie zaskoczyło! Instalując aplikację podawałem datę urodzin, a tak się złożyło, że w miesiącu moich urodzin ponownie byłem w lokalu. Otrzymałem z tej okazji przepyszne ciasto czekoladowe na wielkiej tacy z napisem happy birthday, a obsługa nawet proponowała zaśpiewanie mi życzeń (za co grzecznie podziękowałem zadowalając się cieplutkim, świeżo...
