Jumane Cafe' — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

A good café for light snacks and coffee.

Food menu: quite limited but definitely more than the one a few doors away. Was told the brunch is only available till 1400hr so I end up with only a few option. Orderd the bacon french toast. Taste nothing fantastically delicious, just normal.

Drinks menu: has lots of selection for the coffee and quite a handful for non coffee. Ordered a specialty coffee, (forgot the name 😅) which is quite good. The staff attending to me did told me the acidity for this one is pretty high during ordering.

Desserts/cakes menu: Each different varieties has one savoury flavour.

They have a cake named after the 12 horoscopes but I was told they only have one type left, which is the ‘Leo’, a chocolate cake. Was quite looking forward to having it but it tasted like Brownie and was too sweet for my tastebuds.

Service: Good service and staffs are quite attentive. Keep up the good service.

Overall rating: 3.5 stars It is a place for friends to have coffee and desserts but it is also good for me time when you are craving for some coffee. Items are a bit pricy but it's on the same range as those café around this area.

Do take note that they have a two hours dining timing. They also have wifi, you'll have to ask...

The minimum charge of this place requires you to buy one drink per person. That's right, you can't order food for the minimum charge. Quite odd, in my opinion. A drink in the shop costs 150NT on average. My friend and I originally decided to order some French toast, 2 plates of waffle and some sandwiches, however, the restaurants forbids us in doing so because we had no interest in buying any of the drinks. If we had our original order, we'd be paying you around 800NT, way more than the minimum charge. Instead we ended up changing our order into 2 drinks and a waffle. I'm not complaining about paying less but we simply wanted to try more of the food without getting too stuffed by the drinks. You see, we were willing to pay you more but you simply weren't interested in taking our money.

Overall, a very noisy environment to dine in. Below average service that charges you 10 percent service fee. The waffle is actually decent for around 150NT. However, you'll never get to enjoy that price unless you're only there for drinks.

We came here by chance as next door was closed which was the intended destination, so thought to give a try. We were greeted by the waitress by an unusual unfriendly way, and also "warn" us that each person should order minimum 1 drink, understood some people take advantage of nice cafes. So we sat down, ordered a 300+NTD waffle and a jar of drink, but waitress again sounded unfriendly, said/reminded that each person must order 1 drink each. So yea we ordered one more matcha green tea.

Waffle slightly above expectation, ice cream is little considering such big portion of waffle, strawberry tasted so so.

Drinks, matcha taste good but a bit too sweet.

Environment just normal, didn't find it relaxing or chill as per reviews.

Overall felt upset by the waitress and the terms, I don't want to sound cheap, but maybe should set minimum spend per person instead...
