I've always loved LNY. I live near the Zhongshan location, so I have stopped in for slices many times, come with groups, and ordered delivery. No problems, always delicious. It's been several months since I've been and today was different. They only had one plain pizza for slices available in the middle of lunch which was new to me and super disappointing since LNY is one of the only slice places in the city. I don't know if it was meant to be the Manhattan, but the pizza had a lot of tomato sauce, almost no cheese, and no basil. I've tried probably every LNY flavor before including the Manhattan and this preparation was new to me. The crust was thinner than usual, too, and so soggy from sauce that the bottom half of my slice fell off. I've never had to use a fork with LNY pizza until today. When I arrived and washed my hands, there was a small cockroach in the bathroom. I live in Taiwan. It's summer, so I was like OK. But while I was eating, a mouse/rat ran from the back of the restaurant under my feet where I was sitting at the counter to the front. I told someone who worked there and there was no surprise, barely a reaction, just "不好意思" and then he walked away. I've been coming to both locations since I moved to Taipei 5 years ago and have always been a fan, but after today, I can't see myself going back, definitively not to the Zhongshan...
Read moreThe best pizza I’ve had in Asia.
Pros: Authentic New York crust real pizza ovens very fresh ingredients excellent undercarriage
Cons: seating is a bit cramped music a bit loud with no sound deadening panels
Ordered the #2 Broadway and Calamari. Pizza was incredible. Pricing was very reasonable. The bankette seating is really awkward and uncomfortable, so make a reservation for a table. In terms of pizza it’s the best I’ve had in Asia and in my top 5 globally. You really should make the trip here. I almost went twice in a day but held back.
Advice to the owners: suggest to turn the music down a bit or add some sound absorbing panels to the walls. Maybe I was hungover but my Apple Watch didn’t lie when it said I was in a 90db environment get rid of the bankette seating and elevated chairs (just seems gimmicky) keep up...
Read moreI'm seriously thinking most of the reviews must be fake. Went in here around 8:20 pm after the waiters made sure to tell us 3 times they close at 9, we said it's ok as we only wanted a quick pizza and be on our way. Service felt rushed, constantly seeing stressed face expressions from the waiters. When the pizza arrived, the cheese was almost non existent. I told the waiter about it, and he said he would go and "check". He came back a minute later saying this is the standard amount of cheese. I didn't expect anything different, especially at 8:35 when it looks like all they wanna do is go home. Super disappointed with the experience, the "pizza" or should I say dough with tomato sauce was mediocre, had to go eat some...
