There are plenty of very nice-looking restaurants in Zanzibar, but the quality service and extraordinary meals of Breadfruit Restaurant, which is nestled in a gorgeous nook at the base of the beautiful Neela Boutique Hotel Stone Town stands apart and alone hitting each mark. I went here on a random whim, initially just to view it. The warm and gracious host erased whatever plans to bookmark and possibly return I had. I enjoyed a surprisingly delicious brunch that incorporates local and traditional food items on its menu. The menu goes beyond just catering to what you know and expect, it excites you by challenging and delivering exceptional dishes made with a spin! The best compliment to the chef was the two cleaned plates after our brunch. I can not help but extend my gratitude to the staff of this lovely establishment. They have the understanding that sure money and exclusivity can go far, but kindness has an even greater reach. The kindness, wrapped in this chic and well designed hotel brought us back to their rooftop in the evening of our final evening in Zanzibar. The gravitational pull worked in the opposite direction, in relation to my face; I honestly couldn't stop smiling and I have very rarely experienced this level of pure bliss in a restaurant. Thank you to the entire staff that made our final evening in this beautiful town a most memorable one. Thank you for your engagement in conversation and providing top-tier excellence in service without any of...

MUST VISIT! We walked past the Breadfruit restaurant numerous times and it looked charming but completely empty. It wasn’t until we read the first review that we realized there is a rooftop lounge (Views) and a coffee bar (Parlor). We decided to check it out and could not have been happier that we did!

First, the iced latte and lemon basil chai drinks were incredible. We ordered charcoal prawns with truffle fries and garlic butter sauce. This was one of the best meals we have had on our trip, if not the best. We ordered a salad to share and it was large and filling. It was fresh and exactly what we needed on this humid day.

The menu states their water is purified through reverse osmosis and again filtered making it safe to drink. We felt comfortable drinking the water and eating vegetables/greens at this restaurant.

The staff is super friendly, creating an ambiance and environment that had us wanting to return for dinner. Our waiter Samwel was great. He was attentive and super nice. Elizabeth helped us as well and she’s was smily and friendly.

We will definitely return and would highly recommend this...

The food here is some of the best I've had in Stone Town. We accidentally stumbled upon this hidden gem on a hot afternoon wanting some snacks. Their small plates are perfect for sharing and we were blown away by their Bao buns! We liked the place so much we came again a second time in the same week and tried their larger meals. (This time we ate on their rooftop, which is beautiful!) The lobster linguine and charcoal prawns were fantastic. The prices are a little steep compared to other restaurants in the area, but well justified as you can taste the high quality ingredients in every dish you order.

The restaurant gives off a classy and sophisticated vibe, excellent to take photos too.

Lastly I have to say all the restaurant staff, especially Emanwel and Abuyu, were extremely attentive and friendly. They treated each guest with kindness and respect. Seriously if you are looking for an awesome experience and great food, give this...
