We tried the Rajma Dal, basmati rice and a side of chapati tawa. The food was good, except for the fact there was zero salt. I said to the young waiter that it would be excellent if the chef just added salt. He explained that the chef (his sister) doesn’t add salt as it is the preference of their European customers. It seemed like a lame excuse to me, so I suggested he tell his sister that a little salt would help elevate the flavor of the spices.

I said we’ll come back tomorrow to try the masala chai, veggie samosas and aloo paratha for breakfast, to which the waiter replied, “Ok sir. And I will be sure have my sister add salt.”

The next day, we arrive in the afternoon and the waiter says they are out of the veggie samosas, so we leave.

We go back two days later and the waiter tells us they still have no vegetarian samosas, so now I’m stuck writing this review.

I’m just happy I found an Indian restaurant nearby that isn’t afraid to season properly (and also has excellent vegetarian samosas).

To recap, this restaurant serves bland food made to...

This place has one of the best people and very close to homemade Nepali taste of everyday food. My husband and I had their naan, fish curry, aalo jeera, and paneer tikka masala on day 1 and Nepali thali set for the rest of our trip which was had very authentic taste. Highly recommend this place and we will visit again when we are in the area. Also, thank you owner Dai and Aaditya bhai for being very helpful and owner Didi and other bhai working on kitchen for cooking us such wonderful...

Such a pleasant experience here, I just had the best Tom Yum soup of my life, it comes with rice and is the best price in the area, filled with spices and rich flavor. The photo doesn’t do the dish justice. The family seems so nice, the son told me they are from Thailand and originally from Burma and also offer Burmese food so I am excited to try this cuisine too some time. Highly recommended!

You can't judge a book by its cover, and that is certainly the case with Malar Restaurant. We had the most delicious food and can't recommend highly enough the Palak chicken and the chicken Kadai. We also had breads and a vegetable dish they were all so good. Our server Adi was excellent, speaking good English so was able to explain the ingredients in each dish.
