A Delightful Escape with a Monkey Twist – 4/5 Stars Tucked away in a lively corner of the city, 4 Monkeys, The Amused Hotel, offers an experience that's both unique and charming. With its playful Monkey motif, the hotel manages to maintain a sense of polish and fun, making it a memorable spot for those looking to escape the ordinary. Service with Sincerity and a Bonus From the moment you check in, the hotel's commitment to genuine, helpful service is evident. The complimentary welcome drink at their under-the-radar SkyBar adds a touch of class, despite its quiet ambiance. It’s clear that the location influences the foot traffic, but the service quality shines bright, making each guest feel special. Comfort Meets Quirk in the Rooms The rooms strike a fine balance between functionality and style. While not ostentatious, they provide all the essentials with a twist, like the inventive sliding bathroom door, ensuring privacy with a modern flair. It’s this blend of practicality and design that resonates with the modern traveler. Strategically Hidden, Yet Conveniently Located Though the hotel's hidden entrance adds a layer of intrigue, it’s surprisingly well-positioned for those willing to explore on foot. A short stroll away from the bustling KhaoSan Road, the location offers a serene base close to the heart of Bangkok's chaos. Conclusion: A Vibrant Stay with Minor Caveats 4 Monkeys, The Amused Hotel, is a vibrant oasis for travelers seeking a mix of comfort, character, and convenience. While it may have its quirks, such as the somewhat secluded SkyBar and the adventure needed to hail a TukTuk, these are small trade-offs for the unique experience it offers. Definitely a recommended stay for those looking to soak in the city's flavor with a playful twist. Yours, Graf

It’s good value for money. But even though we got the deluxe room, it was still smaller than what we expected. I don’t know what to think about the bed. It was so hard we stayed there for over a week and still not sure if I liked it lol When we arrived the water was freezing, couldn’t shower. When we called reception, they fixed it next day. But the day after? It started getting cool again. Maybe it was because we were on the top floor 🤷🏻‍♀️ They leave only two towels, we had to keep asking for extra towel for hair and bathroom. They never left enough toilet papers, we had to keep calling for them to bring it. Once two people brought a roll, I think that was a bit weird. We told them it was our honeymoon, they were king enough to put that on the bed. That was nice. The location is okay. It’s close to Kaosan. But very far to train station. You can walk. You need to take a taxi to Sam Yot. Most taxi drivers don’t wanna take you. None want to turn on meter. With meter, it’s around 50baht. Without meter, if it’s normal weather during the day, they charge you 100baht. It’s it’s raining or it’s night, they charge you up to 200. You can walk to ferry station. It’s like 20min walk and it’s 30baht each.

After traveled for a month in South East Asia, I needed a place for a break. The Four Monkeys hotel is a great place to call home for a week! Simple and clean, everything works in my room. As a solo traveler, I just need a comfortable bed, good shower, and clean/quiet room. They delivered! The roof top bar had a great view. It’s close to the Khao San Road so you could walk around in the evening to experience the chaotic/exciting neighborhood. It’s also close to some fantastic temples and interesting spots. The neighborhood was a lot of fun to walk around. In addition, the staff there were amazing: helpful and courteous. I would call out the front desk staff Kanta. She checked me in when I arrived and offered fantastic suggestions for activities or things to do. She helped other guests with the same passion! Mike from the activity desk was also great: offer practical suggestions and helped with arranging activities to enjoy what Bangkok can offer. I would come back here if I am visiting Bangkok again. A great place to call home!

I stayed at 4 Monkeys hotel for 22 nights, yes that's right 22 nights. So I think I've seen everything that this place has to offer and interacted with nearly every single staff member there.

First of all the hotel is located in a great location, it's in walking distance from Rambuttri Alley (great to eat, drink and relax) and Khaosan road (great to go party), it's in walking distance of several Temples worth visiting and in driving distance from the Chatuchak weekend market, Siam Paragon (a high end shopping mall) which has Sea World inside and a huge food court, it's also in driving distance of several other shopping malls, more Temples and worthwhile spots to go visit.

The hotel has a rooftop bar that's relaxed to sit on in the evening with a view on the Rama VIII bridge. There is room service available, you can eat and drink across the street at Samsen Street Hotel (owned by the same owners) and use the pool there as well.

But what was by far the best I ever encountered in any hotel in Bangkok and even around the world is the staff that works there. I felt immediately at home there thanks to the staff, they are very friendly, helpful and excited to do their job. I'm learning how to speak Thai and once they knew they even tried to help me and teach me more. I had many good talks with them when I was eating or drinking like I never experienced before from any hotel staff. The manager (Wanchai) is great in telling you what you can go visit during your stay and to have a conversation with, one of the waitresses (Tay) helped me with anything I asked and was lovely to talk to, one of the security (Parn) was great at his job and when he spotted me in his non-working hours even showed me directions to anywhere I wanted to go.

So in conclusion: if you're looking for a great hotel to stay in Bangkok in this price range I highly recommend it or if you're looking for one in a higher price range I highly recommend The Samsen Street hotel (across the street).

A special thanks to Wanchai, Tay, Parn and until...
